RAMBLINGS FROM THE
C. OF C. DESK
Dear Jinny:
It’a dangerous to get near the
C. of C. office these days. I put
all who enter the front door, to
work. That nice Miss Fullwood,
the novelty salesman from Kerr-
ville, came by the office on Fri-
day to solicite advertising. She
hadn’t sat down comfortably, until
I had her stuffing envelopes with
the latest Trail Ride news releases.
She’s nice pipple.
Speaking of nice people, we had
three convalescent patients from
Lackland Hospital in the office
last Saturday. One of the men
had been to Bandera on several
occasions during the \Vorld War
II and was taking one last look-see
before being discharged from the
service. George and 1 made a list
for them to go see. We sent them
on their way with Zeke windshield
stickers and pins.
Mrs. Saul from the Bandera
Bulletin office has been in and out
all week taking pictures of the
Cowbelles and D. E. Fries* with
his horse and beard. D. E. will
be a good contender for the Beard
Contest winner.
Cowbelles, cowbelles, cowbelles,
we have cowbelles in every shade
this year . . . blondes, brunettes
and even one pretty red-head. The
judges will have a hard time this
year selecting the Queen Cowbelle.
We have Alma Kalka, sponsored
by the Cabaret, Marialice Scruggs,
sponsored by the New Frontier
Hotel, Beanie Dugosh, sponsored
by the Trading Post, Jo Ann Fel-
lows sponsored by the Town and
Ranch, Ada Ender, sponsored by
the Frontier Shop, Patsy Bergman,
sponsored by the Horsman Motor
Company, Janice Ruede sponsored
by the Alamo Lumber Company
end Georgia Ann Richards sponsor-
ed by Everett’s Variety Store.
Col. and Mrs. Harrison, Col. and
Mrs. Clay Short and Mr. and Mrs.
Gabe Anderwald will be the chap-
erones for the Cowbelles trip to
the Fiesta Flambeau parade. A
charming committee to display our
beautiful belles . . . That is the
kind of publicity representing Ban-
dera that I like. I can hardly wait
to see that float with all our belles
on it. It will walk away .with all
the prizes at the judging.
