James -Connolly AFB, Texas.—
Capt. Horace L. Porter, a United
States Air Force pilot was award-
ed his second pair of wings, those
of a navigator, in graduation ex-
orcises at -James Connally Air
Force Base, Waco, Texas, on May
27, 1957. Captain Porter is the
son of Horace L. Porter, Box 238,
Medina, Texas.
The graduation ceremonies cli-
maxed six months of specialized
navigator training designed to pre-
pare him for duties as an aircraft
commander of high speed, jet
Stiagetic Air Command bomber
aircraft. This additional training
has qualified him for the triple
rating qf pilot-navigator-Qbserver.
Prior to entering the service he
attended Southwest Texas State
Teachers College in San Marcos,
Texas.
