CUB SCOUT MONTHLY MEET
The regular monthly meeting of
the Cub Scout Pack will be held
at 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 29.
The meetings will regularly be
held on the last Thursday of each
month, but we have made this
hange this month so as not to
conflict with a school track meet.
Wo sincerely hope that everyone
interested in the Cub Scouts will
attend this April meeting and all
future meetings. The program
this month will include the pres-
entation of the Pack Charter to
the Pack by Assistant District
Commissioner Art Scriven. Also
the presentation of the registra-
tion cards by the Cubmaster to all
the Cubs and all adult workers
registered with the Pack. This
includes the Pack Committee, Den
Mothers, etc. There also will be
a regular skit, advancement cere-
monies, and a kind of a surprise
ceremony involving the Den Moth
ers. The skit and exhibits will be
based on this month’s theme, Swiss
Family Robinson.
The Pack greatly appreciates the
fine interest and enthusiasm
shown by the Committee, the par-
ents and friends.
We sincerely hope that the fine
attendance at our Pack meetings
will continue.

Jphn Purscli of Pipe Creek has
just completed construction of a
diversion terrace on his place.
This diversion has- at double pur-
pose. Its first purpose is to pro-
tect his cropland from water off
a hillside. The diversion will also
help control water that has been
going down Mr. I’urseh’s road to
his house; therby causing erosion
in the roadway. Bill and J. B.
Edwards did the dozer work on
this diversion terrace.

Weed has planted 80 acres in two
fields to Blue Panic this year. He
has been planning to plant these
fields to grass for the past couple
of years, but moisture conditions
have not been favorable until this
spring. Weed also reports that
he is deferring several thousand
acres of the Kyle Ranch this spring
and summer, and that the grass
is doing good, in these pastures on
the 10 inches of rainfall that he’s
recorded so far this year.

Forrest Stevens is another co-
operator with the District who is
planning for the future. Air. Stev-
ens reports that he has been rest-
ing a 1200 acre pasture since be-
fore Christmas. With the spring
rains we’ve been getting. Air. Stev-

R. B. Autrey who leases the
Lost Valley Ranch fields is going
into a summer legume program on
part of the fields. Autrey . is
planning to plant about 30 acres

peas, Autrey will add both organic

which will in turn improve both its
