to a 17 year old youth who was shot
to death during an apparent robbery
on the city's Eastside.
Kevin Lewis, a junior at Roosevelt
High School, was shot twice in the
chest and back.

Walker, pastor of Antioch Baptist
Church, where Kevin was a mem-
ber, delivered the eulogy for Kevin.
Kevin was the first son bom to
Vivian Lewis and Albert Lampkin
of San Antonio on March 30,1979at
the Brady Green Hospital.
He attended schools in the city.,
including Judson High School in
1994, Highland High School in 1995,
where he was a member of the var-
sity basketball team and averaged 25
to 30 points a game, and be was
currently attending Roosevelt High
School where he was a guard on the

Vivian Lewis; father, Mr. Albert
Lampkin; a brother, Brandon M.
Lewis; his maternal grandmother,
Mrs. Hattie M. Clay; paternal grand-
mother, Mrs. Delilah Lampkin; an
uncle and aunt, who were god parents
of Kevin's, Mr. Frankie Lee and Mrs.
Willie Mae White of Sim Antonio,
an uncle and aunt, Mr. Melvin and
Mrs. Belinda Carter of Austin, Texas;
an aunt, Ms. Patricia Lewis and
cousin, Brian C. Lewis of San An-
tonio, and an especially special
friend, Izeta Williams and a host of
other relatives and friends from San
Antonio and throughout Texas.
Kevin was a good kid who enjoyed
playing basketball and showed re-
sponsibility, family members said.
Ms. Lewis dropped Kevin off at a
friend's home in the 500 block of
Susanwood. Kevin did not have any
money, but he joined his two friends
in walking to a nearby restaurant for
chicken.
Witnesses said they were halfway
across the field when they were
confronted by two men. Kevin was
shot twice and his two friends ran in
different directions. The young lads
flagged down a police officer and
the one called 911.
When police arrived at the scene,
Kevin was dead. His wallet was found
a short distance way which led police
to believe that robbery was the mo-
tive.
With the help of the San Antonio
School District Gang Unit, police
arrested T yron Lamont Jefferson, 20.
Jefferson was arrested around 3:20
p.m. Saturday at the suspect's home
in the 4900 block of Way cross.

A five year old girl was bit by a car
and killed when she attempted to
cross a street on the city's East side.
Janelle Deshawn Clark, was an out
going little girl, her mother, Mary
Teenage girl shot
A teenage girl was shot in the face
in a Northeast Side apartment Sun-
day night as she visited a friend.
Shannon Davis, 15, of the 8400
block of Cascade Ridge Drive, was
found on the bed after she bad been
shot in the side.
Police said the shooting occurred
about 10:30 p.m. in the 800block of
Midcrown. Police said they don't
have a motive for the shooting. Po-
