No Two Minute
Warning!
By Minister Scott Dingle
In a football game, the players on
the field receive a two minute
warning prior to the conclusion of
the game. The players then give it
their all to score as many points to
win the game. They transition into
their two minute game plan drills,
they rush back to the line of scrim-
mage to prepare for the next down,
they do everything they can to stop
the clock in order to preserve the
final two minutes of the game.
In the game of life, there will not be
a two minute warning, before your
life ends. There will not be any
signals telling you to straighten up
and fly right before death knocks in
the door of your heart! So often we
go through life judging one another,
offending one another, puffed up
with pride, self conceit, wealth and
class. Each day our hearts are being
weighted down with sin. If God
were to give you a two minute
warning until the end of your life,
you too would transition into your
two minute game plan drill, rush
back to the line of scrimmage of life,
and prepare for the next down, your
judgement!
There is not going to be a two
minute warning in the game of life.
Corinthians 15:52 says, "in a flash,
in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trumpet For the trumpet will sound,
the dead will be raised imperishable.
and will be changed." What are you
waiting for? Is there something in
you today that is unlike Jesus Christ?
Are you holding a grudge against
neighbor? Have you been doing all
that you can for Jesus? Jesus is not
going to grade us on a curve, nor
warn you of your impending death
date. Are you ready to meet the
master?
We have to be ready, for we know
not when we will be called home, we
have to get rid of everything that to
holding us down. We have to believe
that we can fly in the name of Jesus.
1 Thess 4:17 tells us, "we who are
still alive and are left, will be caught
up together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air." Butin
order for us to meet the Lord, we
have to live everyday for Christ and
purge ourselves of un-Christ like be*
havior and the living God is not
going to give us a two minute want-
ing, before it is time for us to report
for the judgement of our lives!
