glers won’t return to
action until February,
but the team is al-
ready getting fans
prepped for the 2012
campaign.
The Wranglers are
offering Holiday Fam-
ily Four packs in an-
ticipation of the team’s
Feb. 25 home opener
against the Wichita
Wild.
By purchasing a
holiday pack, fans will
receive four lower
sideline tickets to the
Wranglers’ tilt with
Wichita plus four hot
dogs, four bags of
chips and four sodas.
Fans can purchase
holiday packs for $99
each.

Liukin coming back
for more
Nastia Liukin, who
trains at World Olympic
Gymnastics Academy
in Plano, plans to re-
turn to the Olympics
next summer in Lon-
don.
Liukin became only
the third U.S. woman to
win the all-around gym-
nastics gold medal at
the Beijing Olympics in
2008, but has not com-
peted much the past
three years. Liu kin’s
schedule has consisted
of appearances, com-
mercial opportunities
and International Gym-
nastics Federation du-
ties.
At the 2012
Olympics, Liukin will
focus on uneven bars
and balance beam,
though floor exercise is
also a possibility.
Liukin is targeting a
return to competition at
the Cover Girl Classic
in the spring.
Dallas to host
championships
USA Volleyball has
awarded the 2012 Boy’s
Junior National Cham-
pionships to Dallas.
The event, which is
July 1-8 at the Dallas
Convention Center, will
include more than 400
teams and 4,500 ath-
letes competing for the
five division titles at
each age group be-
tween 14 and 18.
This tournament
mil continue the rich
history of volleyball
events in the Metro-
plex.
“The city of Dallas
and the North Texas
Region will have hosted
each of USA Volleyball’s
signature national
championship events
within a four-year pe-
riod,” said Andy Re-
itinger, North Texas
Region commissioner.
The 2008 Junior
Olympic Girls Volley-
ball Championships
also took place in
Dallas.

After dropping a 44-41
contest to Frisco Lone Star
before the start of district
play, the Celina girls bas-
ketball team has now won
two straight games and re-
mained perfect against 10-
3A counterparts with a win
over Commerce Tuesday.
The Lady Bobcats
earned a 42-28 win in their
second district contest of
the year after previously
defeating Bonham by 25
points on Friday night.
In Tuesday’s winning ef-
fort, Celina outscored Com-
merce in all four quarters,
despite scoring only 14
combined points in the
third and fourth quarters.
The Lady Cats came out
of the gate with a 13-point
frame in the first and man-
aged to hold Commerce to
10 points in the opening
eight minutes to carry a
three-point lead into the
second.
That’s when the game
got defensive with Celina
holding Commerce to just
four points in the second
and third quarters.
That defensive consis-
tency allowed the Lady
Bobcats to widen their lead
to nine points before the
