CRAWFORD IS DECKED OUT—Pictured are just a couple of the many beautifully decorated homes in Crawford. When out
looking at all the pretty lights in the area, don’t forget to drive to Crawford and see its display of Christmas decorations.
First day hike
at Mother Neff
It is a new year and a time
for new goals and habits. A
time for paying attention to your
health, reducing your stress, and
enjoying the outdoors.
Join Park Ranger Marianne
Van Houtte on New Year’s Day,
Tuesday, January 1, 2013 for a
hike at Mother Neff State Park.
Beginning at 2:00 pm, she will
guide you on the trails and ex-
plain the benefits of walking to
your health. Fresh air and beau-
tiful surrounding contribute to
your emotional health and play
a part in reducing stress on the
body. If you prefer running or
jogging, the trials are conducive
for that as well. As a Boston
Marathon finisher, Marianne can
provide you that information
also.
Nothing fancy is required;
just a comfortable pair of shoes
and a water bottle. There is no
charge for the guided hike; how-
ever, park entrance fees do apply.
The Horse Creek Ranch
Home Owners Association do-
nated $600 to the Mother Neff
State Park Association to help
provide support for the educa-
tional and recreational activi-
ties at the park. Jim Riedel and
Becky Laird are shown present-
ing the check to Park Manager
Leah Huth. The Association
meets on the second Monday of
each month and is looking for
some help, so please join us.
