MEETS TUESDAY AFTERNOON
The E.B.W. Sunday School
Class of the Presbyterian Church
met last Tuesday afternoon ini
the Church Parlor with Miss,
Mary Frances Weeden, Mrs. John
D. Weeden and Miss Carrie Dan-
iel as co-hostesses.
Mrs. Weeden, the president,
called the meeting to order. Mrs
Percy Stockton led the opening
prayer. Mrs. R. P. Walker used
as a devotional, the 13th chapter*
of First Corinthians and closed!
with the Lord’s Prayer. Commit-
tee reports were read and sev-
eral items of business were dis-
cussed. Mrs. Fred Jennings and
Mrs. R. P. Walker were named
as a nominating committee, for
new officers for the coming year.
The social hour was enjoyed and
refreshments of oirange punch and
cookies were served by the host-
esses.
Mr. L, A. Pugh, Sr. of Dallas,
visited his daughter and family*,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earley and
children Sunday.
Lt. and Mrs. Clyde L. Perry
•and children, Jan and Tommy of
Lawton, Oklahoma, visited the,
Stafford Cunninghams last week-
end.

nett are in Houston visiting their
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ar-

Misses Josephine Bain and her
guests, Elizabeth Sheppard and
Lucy Mae Brown of Brownwood,
Ann Norton, Aline McGee of Cle-
burne and Louise Blissett spent
Sunday afternoon in Corsicana.

day. They had visited relatives
in Abilene and Waco, and were
on their way home to Baltimore,

Hughes, Texas, is visiting Mr. Os-
car Greer.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Murray and

len Thursday.

Boe went to Tyler Friday to get
Barbara who had been visiting

Miss Judy Anderson, who has
been visiting her grandmother in
Arkansas, has returned to Ker-
ens for the remainder of the sum-
mer. Judy and Kirk have been]
spending the summer with their
jaunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. R.
P. Walker. Mrs. Laura Lee An-
.derson, Denton, and a friend of
Kirk’s, Jim Kirkpatrick, visited
ihere last weekend.
T.E.L. CLASS MEETS TUESDAY

The T.E.L. Sunday School Class,
of the First Baptist Church met
last Tuesday afternoon at 3:30
o’clock in the home of Mrs. C.
W, Tramel. Mrs. W. L. Bain, Sr.,
the president, presiding. The
meeting opened with the sing-
ing of two songs, “Let others)
See Jesus in You’’ and “Help
Somebody Today.”
Mrs. Josh Speed gave the de-
votional which was based on the
S7th Psalm. Mrs. Eugene Ross led*
an interesting quiz on “Bible
Food.” There were 11 members
and one guest present. Mrs.
Tramel was assisted in serving
