Verlie Fay Keilers Weds
Henry Nietenhoefer
The marriage of Miss Verlie
Fay Keilers, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. T. R. Keilers of- Oldenburg,
and Henry C. Nietenhoefer, son
of Mrs. Henry Nietenhoefer and
the' late Mr. Nietenhoefer, was
solemnised Jan. 15, in St. John’s
Lutheran Church, Warrenton. The
Rev. W. E. Doerr officiated in
the candlelight ceremony.

sang “Because” accompanied by
organist, Mrs. Gilbert Eck.
The bridal gown was of Chan-
tilly lace over satin,'with long,
pointed sleeves and a skirt and
train of tulle over satin. The head-
dress was adorned with pearls
and rhinestones and the short veil
was of lace. The bride carried
a white orchid centered in a bou-
quet of flour-de-amour on a white
Bible.
Mrs. Delroy Zingelmann, sister
of the bride from Round Top, was
matron of honor. Her dress was
of rose Lnyhm net over taffeta.
Bridesmaid Charlene Gest of San
Hpmjo. Roy Neves of Snyder Was
groomsman.

Antonio wore pink nylon net over
taffeta. Both carried pink carna-
tions. A niece of the bride, Sheri-
an Zingelmann of La Grange,
was flower girl and Michael Lein-
weber, nephew of the groom of
Hondo, was ring bearer.
Marvin Nietenhoefer served as
his brother’s best man. Ushers
were Reno Koeupper of San An-
tonio and Milton Nietenhoefer of

VFW home in La Grange. The
cake was cross-shaped with a
candle in each corner. A minia-
ture bride and groom adorned
the top of the cake. Mrs. Marvin
Nietenhoefer of Hondo registered
the guests.
Other members of the wedding
party included Mrs. Lawrence
Lindner, Mrs. Ethel McMeans and
Mrs. Stanley Saathoff.

CASTROV1LLE -Some 25 cadets
of Moye Military School will re-
ceive spring commissions and
wands, Sunday afternoon, Feb. 13,
following a dress parade honor-
ing the parents of students from
Hondo.
Dr. R. W. Landers of Hondo
will review the parade and pre-
sent the awards. Bob DePuy will
be guard of honor. Mrs. Landers
will present the United States
flag and Mrs. DePuy the Texas
and Moye flags.
The exercises will begin prompt-
ly at 4:30 p. m. Visitors are wel-
come, the school commandant,
Capt. Dan Canty, said.
Mrs. Carl Richter, Miss Ruth
Lawler, Margaret Ann Herring,
and Jordan T. Lawler and C. J.
Krenmueller attended the per-
formance of the opera “Lucia”
starring Lily Pons at the SA
Municipal auditorium, Sunday af-
ternoon.
A drive to collect funds to fi-
nance the activities of the U. S.
Hwy. 90 Assn, is underway this
month in Castroville. Castroville’s
quota is $198.60 for the year.
More than $70 has been donated
and more pledged.

music for'flle ceremony.

length dress with navy blue ac-
cessories. Her mother wore a

At the wedding-reception fol-
lowing the ceremony, the bridal
table was covered with a white
cloth and the wedding cake, pre-
pared by the bride’s mother and
Mrs. J. C. Fell and Mrs. R. L.
Harvey, was used as the center
piece. It was three-tiered and
adorned with a miniature bridal
couple, sweetheart rosebuds and
lily of the valley. Serving were
Mrs. Toby C. Tomlin, Mrs. Gay-
Ion Davidson and Miss Shirley
Bendele.
A sister of the bride, Billie Dee
Shaw, registered the 30 guests.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. DeForest Swift of New
York, where the couple will spend
their honeymoon. He is a mili-
tary policeman with the U. S.
Army, and the bride is employ-
ed as a typist

A Valentine dance sponsored by
Centro Juvenil Guadalupe will be
held at 9 p. m. Saturday, Feb.
12 at Guadalupe Halt Music will
be played by Ramiro Cervera and
bis orchestra.
Four Valentine queens have

Herrera, Loretta Colunga and Ma-
ria Elva Barrientes.

tary school gym, Friday, Jan. 28.
