MEET MR. LEDBETTER
1 would like you to meet our wirechief, Jess Ledbetter.
Jess has been in Hondo since February 1958, and has eighteen
years service with the telephone
company. He has eight men re-
porting to him and he is respon-
sible for installing and maintaining
approximately 4000 telephones in
Hondo, Bandera, Pipe Creek, Cas-
troville, and Yancey.
He is active in the Lions Club,
Chamber of Commerce and the
City Bowling League.
Jess is married to the former
Miss Vera Richter of Boerne. They
have two children, a daughter, who
is attending Texas Tech at Lub-
bock, and a son, who is a fresh-
man in Hondo high school.
The Ledbetters are members of
the Episcopal Church in Hondo.
ANNOUNCE YOUR GIFT WITH A MINIATURE PHONE
I was walking down Avenue M the other day, looking at
all the nice things our Hondo businessmen have on display for
Christmas in their store windows, and just about everything I
saw would make a mighty fine gift for somebody.
But I guess that’s where th eChristmas shopping problem
comes in — picking the right gift for the right person.
If you’re stumped about what to give, I know a gift that’s
always right — right for Christmas, right the year ’round. It’s
an extension telephone in color. A color phone beautifies the
home and is a faithful servant in the kitchen, the bedroom, the
den — wherever it’s needed most.
Now, here’s real news. When you order one as a gift — for
your wife, your teenagers, a relative or a friend — we’ll send
you a miniature color phone absolutely free. Packed in a color-
ful box and ready to be placed under the Christmas tree, it's
a wonderful way to announce to that lucky person that a color
telephone i$ on its way.
Call the telephone company today to order an extension
telephone in color, and get that miniature phone while the sup-
ply lasts.
GET NUMBERS NOW FOR HOLIDAY CALLS
I know a lot of folks in Hondo will be making Long Dis-
tance calls over the holidays, and so will thousands of others all
over Texas.
To get everybody’s call through as fast as possible, it’s
doubly important that you call by number.
We’ll also send you, if you wish, a free Blue Book to keep
a record of your numbers.
Stoltes Celebrate

troville from 1 to 4 p.m. Sun-
day, Dec. 13.
The children honoring their
parents were: Mr. and Mrs. Mil-
ton Stolte, Rt. 9, San Antonio,
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wuri-
bach, Dunlay, Mr. and Mrs. Er-
ich Menger Jr., San Antonio,
Mr. and Mrs. Hobby Schuehle,
Hondo.
Golden mums decorated the
centerpiece. Approximately two
hundred guests called to con-
gratulate them.
Coffee, punch, decorated wed-
ding cake, cookies and sandwich-
es were served.
