Hitzfelder-Adamietz Vows
Said In Catholic Ceremony
Miss Barbara Ann Hitzfelder
of Hondo became the bride of
Mr. Thomas Anthony Adamietz
of Bandera in a double-ring cer-
emony officiated by the Very
Reverend Harold Ehlinger at St.
John's Catholic Church in Hon-
do on the evening of August 27,
1966.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Hitz-
felder of Hondo. Mr. and Mrs.
Henry R. Adamietz of Bandera
are the parents of the bride-
groom.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride wore a full--.,
length gown of lace over taffe-
ta with a scalloped neckline and
long tapered sleeves. A star-
shaped crown, embroidered with
crystals and seed pearls, held
her three-layered veil. She car
ried a bouquet of white mums
centered with a white orchid,
with white satin streamers.
Mrs. Gerald Holzhaus, the
bride's sister, was matron of
honor. Bridesmaids were Misses
Sylvia Adamietz and Sharon

National Guard Armory follow-
ing the ceremony.
Misses Janice Mann, Lynette
Moehring and Lorine Faseler
served cake and punch and Miss
Margaret Adamietz presided at
the bride's book.
Following a wedding trip to
Galveston, Mr. and Mrs. Adam-
ietz are now residing in Hondo.
IOTA Upsilon
To Hold Party
A benefit card party will be
held by Iota Upsilon Chapter of
Epsilon Sigma Alpha at the Golf
Club House on next Tuesday,
September 27, at eight o'clock
in the evening. Refreshments
will be served and the party
will be open to members, their
husbands, and friends.
Proceeds from the benefit at
which donations of $1 per person
will be accepted, will go to the
various projects under the assist-
ing sponsorship of the club.
SEPTEMBER MEETING
At their regular monthly
meeting on September 13, in
the home of Mrs. Hilmer Muel-
ler, with co-hostesses Mr*. H.
Baecker and Mrs. Carroll Dur-
ham, a check for $40 was pres-
ented from District IV of Epsi-
lon Sigma Alpha to be present-
ed to the Medina County Assoc-
iation for Exceptional Children,
one of the local Chapter's proj-
ects.
The meeting program was
led by Mrs. B. P. Strunk, edu-
cational director. Members
made short reports about their
summer vacations or trips.
Hondo HD Club
The Hondo Home Demonstra-
tion Club met in the home of
Mrs. Leonard Dockum for their
monthly meeting. The mem-
bers answered roll call with
"Hair or Skin Problem."
Guests were Mrs. Richard
Taylor and Mrs. Sharon English.
Mrs. English gave the pro-
gram on "A Prettier You", with
tips on hair and skin care, also
personal appearance and pos-
ture.
Reports were made by the
various committee chairmen.
Officers elected are Mrs.
Kenneth Bendele, president;
Mrs. Dan Herrmann, vice-pres-
ident; Mrs. Maurice Zerr, sec-
retary; Mrs. Jimmy Roger s,
Sjtreasurer; Mrs. Ralph GilUamp*,
and Mrs. Robert Graff, Jr.,
Council delegates and Mrs. Jim
Cusenbary, reporter.
Following the business meet-
ing refreshments of finger sand-
wiches, chips, cookies, coffee
and tea were enjoyed by all.
The next meeting will be
held on Oct. 11 at 2:00 p.m. in
the home of Mrs. Jimmy Rogers

Floral baskets of white glad-
ioli and chrysanthemums deco-
rated the sanctuary. Mrs. J. N.
Myers presented the traditional
organ wedding music.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a dress of
white peau de sole, made with
a fitted bodice, portrait neck-
line, and accented by a lace
motif. A softly pleated long
skirt featured a matching lace
motif on the front as did the
long detachable train. A double
crown of seed pearls held t h e
multi-tiered veil of illusion.
Her bouquet was of white carna-
tions and satin ribbon streamers.

bride's sister, Carol Nester, as
maidofhonor and as brides-
maids, her cousin, Betty Nester
and Misses Mary Lee Saathoff,
and Barbara Haynes, sister of the
the bridegroom. All wore ldent-
i c a 1 pale pink gowns with
matching accessories and each
carried pink carnation nosegays.
Joe Wadell was best man ,
and groomsmen were Richard
Nester, Jerry Freeman and Ken-
ny Schmidt. Ushers were Al-
bert Lutz and Karl Russell.
A reception was held in die
American Legion Hall. Misses
Carmen Lutz, Judy Huesser, and
Mrs. Paul Lindeburg assisted in
serving wedding cake and punch.
As a going away costume,the
bride wore an olive green suit
with accessories to match.
After a wedding trip to Gal-
veston, Mr. and Mrs. Haynes
are now at home in Del Rio
where he is in the employ of
Central Power and light ppjp-
pany.

Honors Sisters
At the first monthly meeting
of the school year, the sisters of
St. John's were honored with a
silver tea by the members of the
Parent - Teachers Club. The of-
ficers for the year 1966-67 are
Mrs. James Tschirhart, presi-
dent; Mrs. Ferd Rothe, vice-
president; Mrs. Everett Vincent,
secretary; Mrs. Bill Moos, trea-
surer .
The members present voted
on the program this year of cat-
aloguing the books of the school
library in order to meet the re-
quirements for state affiliation.

Chapter Meets .
The Gamma Upsilon Chap-
ter of Delta Kappa Gamma met
Tuesday, September 13 at the
home of Mrs. Ed Winnie Mc.-
Whirter. Mrs. Leora Eggen, the
newly elected president, presid-
ed. Roll call was answered by
Highlights of my Vacation.
Mrs. Doris Keath, immedi-
ate past president, reported on
the state convention in San An-
tonio. The president's workshop
was discussed by Mrs. Eggen.
Refreshments were served to
thirty-two members.
Hostesses were Mrs. Ed Win-
nie McWhirter, Miss Thelma
Lynch, Mrs. Ethel Hartman and
Mrs. Perry Finger.

ored Mrs. John (Jonell Riff) Tar
vin of San Antonio, was held

of Mrs. G. A. Masters with
Mrs. Masters as hostess.

novelty holders, coffee and
punch were enjoyed.

down a baby-sitting and

the home of a working
mother. Jane 11 is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
J. F. Langford. Her fu-
ture plans include college
and either teaching or so-
cial work. Math is her
favorite subject and she
enjoys all sports.

The Girls Auxiliary of Firs

The service will be open to
the public and everyone is in-
vited to be present.

This past Monday the Hondo
Owl Band elected its officer

president, Cheryl Grell as vie
president, Caroline Sinclair as
secretary, Leslie Porter as trea-
