Livingston Dixie Youth Softball
Association enter their rospodive
state tournaments.
Both team* defeated Cleveland In
tho District HI tournament to earn a
trip to this year* state champion-
ship. The winner of the two tour-
naments will then advance to the
Dixie World Series.
Ponytail Division
The Ponytail Division (10-11-12 yr.
olds) will be playing the host team of
Hudson on Saturday with game time
scheduled for 8 p.m.
Nine teams will participate In the
double elimination tourney. Along
with Livingston, teams battling for
the championship will be Central,
MT. Vernon. Mi, ‘TTbubuT,
Cleveland, Lufkin National, Lufkin
American, Nacogdoches and Hud-
son,
Tlie winner of this tournament will
represent Texas In the Dixie World
.Series to lie held in Zephyrhlllx,
Florida.
Members of this years Livingston
Ponytail All-Stars are: Shelly
Young, Yolanda Wyatt, Brandi Tim-
brook, Caroline Pace, Tonya Moore,
Alicia Moore, DeeDee Martinez,
Christy Loper, Brandy Kruse, Misty
Kincade, Tiffany Jones, Julie Hall
and Mandy Anderson. Malcom
Jones Is the manager and coaches
are Hubby Jones and Dayton Hall.
Halles Division
The All-Stars from the Belles Div-
slon (13-14-18 year olds) will also
begin tournament action on Satur-
day In Mt. Pleasant, Livingston will
play the host team of Mt Pleasant at
8:00 p.m, Saturday night,
Other teams competing for the
championship are Nacogdoches,
Lufkin, Sulpher Springs, Mt. Plea-
sant, Cleveland, Central, Diboll and
Mt. Vernon.
The state winner will then ad-
vance to the Dixie World Series. This
