Lena Agnes Cash Charlie Whittington Claribel Blakeburn
CORRIGAN - Funeral services
for Lena Agnes Cash, 81, of
Woodlake were held Wednesday, Ju-
ly 8, 1987 from the Porter-Homes
Funeral Chapel In Mexia. Interment
followed in Shiloh Cemetery In
Limestone County, Tx.
Mrs. Cash died Monday, July 6, in
Pineywoods Acres Nursing Home in
Corrigan.
A resident of Woodlake for the
past 15 years, she previously lived in
Houston. On Sept. 24,1922 she mar-
ried the late George Henry Cash.
Mrs. Cash was a member of the
Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Wanda Bradley of Woodlake;
brother, J.C. Carter of Houston; four
sisters, Mrs. Lillian Scott of Wor-
tham, Mrs. Idonia Guthrie of Mes-
quite, Mrs. Bertha Hinchliffe of
Mexia and Mrs. Catherine Barbano
of Houston.
Corrigan Funeral Home was In
charge of local arrangements.

LIVINGSTON - C.E. “Charlie”
Whittington, 59, died Tuesday, July
7, 1987. Funeral services were held
Friday, July 10, from Rosewood
Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Cook
officiating. Interment followed in
Brookside Memorial Park, Houston.
Survivors Include his wife, Sue K.
Whittington of Porter; son and
daughter-in-law, Keith A. and Betty
Whittington of Porter; daughter,
Charlene Whittington of Houston;
son, Ronnie E. Whittington of
Porter; two granddaughters, Court-
ney Reneu Whittington and Ashley
Ann Whittington, both of Porter;
brother and sister-in-law, James
and Loretta Peveto; nephews, Paul,
Ricky and Gene Peveto; and other
relatives and friends.
Rosewood Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

New bridge to span Colita Creek
HOUSTON - Funeral services for
Mrs. Claribel W. Blakeburn, 64, of
Livingston will be held at noon Mon-
day, July 13, 1967 from the Forest
Pa He Westheimer Funeral Chapel,
Westheimer at Dairy Ashford Road,
in Houston. The Rev. Jack Treend
will officiate. Interment will follow
in Hollywood Cemetery In Houston.
Mrs. Blakeburn died July 9 in Con-
roe.
A resident of Livingston for the
past seven years, she was formerly
a longtime resident of Houston.
Survivors include three
daughters, two sons and 10 grand-
children.

Chapel is in charge of ar-
rangements.
Clara Greebon
LlVlNGSTON - Funeral services
for Mrs. Clara Amelia Greebon, 85,
of Livingston were held Saturday,
July 11, 1987 from the Cochran
Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev.
Andy Dooley and the Rev. John
Stewart officiating. Interment was
in San Marcos City Cemetery.
Mrs. Greebon died Thursday mor-
ning in Lake Livingston Medical
Center. She was a member of the
Livingston Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters
and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Dale
Fox of Livingston, Margaret and
Dave Thompson of Prineville, Ore.,
and Clara and Robert Spindler of
Kingston, N. Y.; a son and daughter-
in-law, James and Olga Greebon of
Alamogordo, N.M.; two sisters,
Adelle Clemens of Windgap, Pa. and
Paula Vermesch of San Antonio; 11
grandchildren; and nine great-
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Fox,
Jerry Fox, Charles Byars, Lynn Nix-
on, Paul Poe and AJ Kuehn

charge of arrangements
LUFKIN - More than $1.6 million
in contracts for the Lufkin Highway
District were awarded at the June
meeting of the State Highway Com-
mission in Austin.
"Work will include the construc-
tion of one bridge structure in Polk
County and road surface work for
highway sections in Angelina and
Houston counties," said J.L. Beaird,
district engineer.
A new bridge will be constructed
at Colita Creek south of Colita Com-
munity approximately 13 miles west
of Moscow in Polk County. CCE, Inc
of Nacogdoches has been awarded
the $95,813 contract. Beaird added,
“The Colita Creek bridge project
comes under the Off-State System
Federal Bridge Replacement and
Rehabilitation Program. Only
federal and local funds, not state
funds, are used for the project’s
cost.”
Under the program, the federal
government provides 80 percent of
the funding for the project, and the
remaining 20 percent is funded local-
ly
In Angelina County, a 3.2 section
of State Highway 94 from Hudson to
the Neches River will be safety
treated and have fixed objects
removed. The $663,807 contract was
given to Midwest Construction Co.,
of Nebraska City, Nebraska.
Rehabilitation of driving lanes and
construction of paved shoulders is
scheduled for a 5.6 mile section of
S.H. 21 from the end of the concrete
pavement southwest of Crockett to
S.H 7 in Houston County. Moore
Brothers Construction Company of
Lufkin has been awarded the
$929,924 contract.
