Ucal Woods
Dollie Mildred Williams, 87, of
Holliday died Tuesday, March 16,
1993, in a Wichita Falls nursing
home.
Graveside services were 3 p.m.
Thursday in Buffalo Springs Cemetery
with Gil Peters, minister of Holliday
Church of Chrust, officiating. Arrange-
ments were under the direction of
Hampton-Vaughan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was bom December
8, 1905 in Buffalo Springs. She had
lived in Holliday for 20 years. She
was a retired bookkeeper for Jack
Grace Drilling. She was a member of
Holliday Church of Christ.
Survivors include nine sisters, Irene
St. Clair, Ira Nell Chesner, and Doris
Adams, all of Holliday, Lorena Willi-
ams and Etta Ruth Goode, both of
Bowie, Juanita Blair of Valliant, Okla-
homa, Renna Lee Lloyd of Wichita
Falls, Veda White of Grand Saline and
Jetta Hight of Austin; and four grand-
children.
Bobby Joe Monroe, 51, of Holliday
died Sunday, March 21, 1993, in his
home.
Graveside services were 2 p.m
Wednesday in Ridge Park Cemetery in
Hillsboro. Arrangements were under
the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Mr. Monroe was bom August 29,
1941 in Marshall. He was a retired
self-emloyed mechanic. He had lived
in the North Texas area since 1970.
He was a Protestant.
Survivors include two daughters,
Tammy and Connie, both of Alva-
rado, Colorado; two sisters, Helen
Bailey of Texas City and Carolyn
Votaw of Whitney; and three brothers,
Clifford of Plainview and Jack and
Allen, both of Holliday.
Memorials may be made to
Holliday Fire Department or Hospice
of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road,
Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
Emma Meyer
Ucal Ruth Woods, 91, died Satur-
day, March 20, 1993, in an Archer
City nursing home.
Services were 2 p.m. Monday at
Aulds Funeral Home with Roger
Deerinwater, pastor of First Baptist
Church, officiating. Burial was in
Archer City Cemetery.
Mrs. Woods wtts bom August 26,
1901 in Herbard. She moved to Archer
City in 1975. She and Robert B.
"Bob" Woods were married April 1,
1927 in Haskell. He died June 24,

Baptist Church and had been a former
Sunday school teacher. She was a
member of the Eastern Star.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
Survivors include two sons, Jack of
Azle and Bobby of Wichita Falls; two
daughters, Vida Ruth Anderson of Abi-
lene, and Billie Lo is Murphy of Cleve-
land, Texas; a brother, Olline Willis
of Comanche; 18 grandchildren; 48
great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-
grandchildren.

Melton "Junior" Tamo, 53, of
Erick, Oklahoma died Friday, March
19, 1993, in an Oklahoma City
hospital.
Graveside services were 2 p.m.
Monday in Avon Cemetery with
Charles Krudwig officiating. Arrange-
ments were under the direction of
Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Mr. Tamo was bom April 2, 1939
in DeQueen. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include a son, Terry of
Holliday; a daughter Tami Crowley of
Archer City; six sisters, Joyce Rogers
of DeQueen, Hoy Armstrong of
Tulia, Ruth Bolton of Dennison,
Betty Moody of Kress, Francis John-
son of Millsap and Gloria Morris of
Blue Mound; a brother, Gene Cum-
mins of Mount Pine, Arkansas; and
five grandchildren.
Ethel Gipson
Ethel Gipson, 83, died Saturday,
March 20, 1993, in a Wichita Falls
hospital.
Services were 2 p.m. Tuesday at
Owens & Bmmley Funeral Home
with Vernon D. Lewis, pastor of
Highland Heights Baptist Church,
officiating. Burial was in Crestview
Memorial Park.
She was bom January 12, 1910 in
Young County. She moved to
Wichita Falls in 1950. She was a
homemaker. She and Johnnie Lee
Gipson were married on April 1,
1927. He died in 1978.
Survivors include four sons, John-
nie L. of Enid, Oklahoma, Keith and
James, both of Wichita Falls, and
Leroy of California City, California;
two daughters, Betty Davis of Las
Vegas, Nevada and Patricia Matthews,
of Sacramento, California; two broth-
ers, Houston Petty of Archer City,
and Joe Petty of Torrington, Wyo-
ming; a sister, Frankie Lee Guyton of
North Kansas City, Missouri; 13
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchil-
dren.
Emma Hoffman Meyer, 86, of Scot-
land, died Friday, March 19, 1993, in
an Archer City nursing home.
Rosary was 7 p.m. Sunday at St.
Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland.
Services were 10 a.m. Monday at St.
Boniface Catholic Church with the
Rev. Chris Davis, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery
under the direction of Aulds Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Meyer was bom January 3,
1907 in Red Rock. She moved to

JAMBOREE
Archer City is having its 4th
Saturday night Jamboree March 27.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and music be-
gins at 6 p.m. at the Activity
Building in Archer City. There will
be homemade pies, sandwiches, cold
drinks and coffee for sale. Admission
is $1.00 for adults and 50 cents for
children. Door prizes will be given.
All musicians tire invited to parti-
cipate in the program and the public
is invited to come and enjoy the good
music. Bring a friend.
Scotland in 1911. She was a member
of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were Robert Morath,
Bill Hoffman, John Ingram, Jim
Baumhardt, Wilfred Baumhardt and
Allen Hoffman.
Survivors include four sisters,
Hattie Morath of Scotland, Cecilia
Ingram of Denison, Annie Bemethy of
Burkbumett and Alma Scheffe of
Windthorst; and numerous nieces and
nephews.

bel Rodgers assisted with bingo Tues-
day. Those attending were Jay Walsh,

Hazel Lear held Bible study Wednes-
day. Janice Alsup played piano and
June Light played banjo. Attending
were Jay Walsh, Tess Watson, Tom
Maag, Betty Sutherland, Ruby Quisen-
berry, Gladys Kile, Viola Lowack,
Herschel Akers, Pattie Pippin, Frances
Duren, Anna Scheller, Bess Dawdy and
Ney Starks assisted with the singing.
St Patrick's Day was celebrated
with singing and music. Kitty Jackson
played piano and June Light played
guitar. Valey Crayton assisted with the
refreshments and Ney assisted with the
singing. Jay Walsh, Tess Watson, Bet-
ty Sutherland, Tom Maag, Bess Daw-
dy, Herschel Akers, Ruby Quisenber-
ry, Frances Duren and Anna Scheller
attended.
On Tuesday and Thursday it was
men vs. women in dominoes. Men
won 3 out of 4 games. The women
have challenged the men again next
Tuesday and Thursday. Players were
Anna Scheller, A.D., Jay Walsh, Her-
schel Akers, Tess Watson, Betty Suth-
erland, Tom Maag, Pattie Pippin, and
Ruby Quisenberry. Mary Fisk enjoyed
a movie Friday. If you would like to
loan us a movie for the week, call or
come by and ask for Linda Crayton,
A.D.
Ray Akers and wife visited Cecil and
Herschel Akers.
Alice, Sarah and Rachel Sutherland
visited with Betty Sutherland.
On March 21, Bro. Alan Brock of
Faith Memorial Baptist Church
brought Sunday worship. Janice Alsup
and Jimmie Phillips played the piano
and organ. Hazel Lear led the singing
and June Light played the banjo. Ruth
Moore held Sunday school.
