Camp Fire Group
Holds Ceremony
By Melissa Graves
A Camp Fire Candlelighting Cere-
mony was held recently for Archer
City's second grade Staiflight group.
Each child was presented with em-
blems which they earned. The em-
blems were for die advancement in
knowledge of Nature Awareness,
Getting Ready for Camping and The
Wonders of Science. A special Fall-
Food for the Seasons emblem was
also handed out to each child. All
eight members collected ten cans of
food each. The eighty cans of food
were delivered to Archer Thrift Shop
to be given to the needy.
The ceremony was a special event
for the group. Each child lit a candle
that represented the eight laws of
Camp Fire after the Pledge of Allegi-
nce and the Camp Fire Wish Song.
The laws are: Worship God, Seek
Beauty, Give Service, Pursue Know-
ledge, Be Trustworthy, Hold onto
Health, Glorify Work and Be Happy.
