Engagement of Patsy Ham
To William Ran Rhodes Is
Announced at Party Saturday
Henderson News.
Wedding bells keynoted the
decorations at the supper-
bridge party given Saturday
night in the Craig Wright
home, 625 North Marshall
Street, announcing the engage-
ment and approaching mar-
riage of Miss Patsy Ham,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.
A. Ham of Timpson, to Wil-
liam Rass Rhodes, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Rhodes of
Goldthwaithe. Texas. Co-
hostesses were Mrs. C. A. Ham
and Mrs. Craig Wright.
Cynosure of all admiring
eyes was the unique mantle
arrangement in the Hospitable
living room with a “Tom
Thumb” groom and his dimi-
nutive “June Bride” standing
’neath a bridal arch adorned
with white blossoms. Fern curl-
ed and twined from the arch
to encircle the flickering white
tapers used at either end. The
white satin ribbon draped
across the front of the fire-
place was caught with a clus-
ter of wedding bells and was
lettered in silver "Patsy and
Rass” and the wedding date,
“July 17.” The wedding will
be solemnized at the twilight
hour at the First Baptist
Church with Rev. T. P. Lott of-
ficiating.
White daisies were grouped
on the piano and were reflect-
ed in a mirror overhanging a
mahogony table in the living
room. Quartet tables with
place settings of four each
were laid in white linen and
centered with solitary tapers
encircled with nosegays of
fragrant gardenias. The satin
streamers attached to the nose-
gays extended t<j the place
cards which boasted white
satin bridal bows and again,
tinkling silver wedding bells.
The bell theme was re-iterated
in the sandwiches on the ap-
petizing salad plate and the
bridge tallies.
Miss Ham chose for her an-
nouncement party a smart
navy linen costume accentuat-
ed with a shoulder corsage of
red carnations. Her accessories
were also in red.
The guest list included:
Misses Neva Neile Wright,
Addie Carol Henderson, Mari-
lyn Shaw, Barbara Cannon,
Nelvvyn Grambling. Dorothy
Jo Wright, Joan Cannon, La-
Nellc Bassett, Norma Allen of
Jacksonville, Mamie Lou Ken-
drick, Betty Brest, and Mmes.

To T1ie; Citizens of .Timpson
And Communities ’
Please accept- this little
note as a personal message
from the depths of our hearts.
We will be leaving Timpson
immediately after July 1 for
our new home in Pasadena,
Texas, where we have accept-
ed employment with the Pa-
sadena schools. Naturally, we
regret leaving Timpson. You
have been good to us to let us
live and work among you for
some sixteen years, however,
we have no other alternative,
as most of you know the hap-
penings of late. We have no
apologies to make for our
work, our conscience is clear,
and we hope our short stay
here has been an asset to your
community. We certainly want
you to call upon us anytime
we can be of service to you,
for it has been, always, a
pleasure for us to help make
your town and community a
better place in which to live.
May we wish each and every
one God’s speed in life and
the best in health and happi-
ness. Your friends,
