Mrs. Walter L. Cannan and
Miss Francis Ramsey returned
last Saturday from Jackson-
ville where they spent a week
attending the Young People’s
Assembly of the Methodist
church. Mrs. Cannan was a
member of the faculty during
the week’s training, te-ching
“Religious Drama,” and Miss
Ramsey was a delegate from
the Young People's Depart-
ment of the local Methodist
church.
N. T. Truitt left today for
Alexandria, La„ where he
will enter the United States
Veterans hospital for treat-
ment.
Miss Leta Vae Brinson has
returned to Nacogdoches
where she has a position. The
young lady recently returned
from a week’s vacation spent
in Arkansas.

visited Mr. Manning’s par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A.
Manning of Center last week.
W. F. Lewallen and Carl
Hathom of Center spent a
few hours in Timpson last Sat-

family of Mr. Francis’ sister,
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Crausby.
Mitchell Crausby, who has
been in Jacksonville for the
past several days returned
with them.

Jr., and Sherrili Bailey of
Barksdale Field, were here
last week-end for a visit with
their parents.
Dr. Charles Bussey of Dal-
last will return home today af-
ter a visit with his mother,
Mrs. D. C. Bussey of this city.
Mrs. R. G. Kristensen and
Misses Irene Johnson and Ann
Boul ware, were visitors in
Shreveport and Marshall Sun-

Miss Madge Boucher is
spending several , weeks in
Nacogdoches, attending the
Haden School of Dancing.
Three unusually'large cab-
bage heads were brought to
the Times office Saturday, and
presented to members of the
force, by W. N. Whitton cf
Timpson. The cabbage were
subtracted from 75 specimens
equally nice, and is but one of
the many nice varieties of
vegetables grown in the Whit-
ton garden. Gardening, a
hobby with Mr. Whitton, pro-
vides both exercise and rec-
reation, he stated. The gentle-
man celebrated his 94th birth-
day June 3.
Charles Witcher of Shreve-
port, spent the week-end with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.
B. Witcher. He has a position
with the United Gas Corpora-
tion.
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Craw-
ford, Mrs. J. S. Harbuck and
daughter, Miss Kate, visited
Mrs. Harbuek’s father, Rev. C.
A. Tower of San Augustine
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Perry
Green of Houston spent the
week-end with Mr. Green’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. N.
Green, and other Timpson rel-
atives.

Christian Church Has
Large Crowd At
Evening Service
The Christian church en-
joyed a record crowd at their
Sunday evening service, ac-
cording to announcement re-
ceived by the Times. A con-
gregation of 170 people en-
joyed the splendid fellowship,
and the pastor thanks each
and everyone for their keen
interest and cooperation. The
message for the evening was
brought by the pastor. Rev.
Jack Willett.
