Dear editor:
1 hate been reidtsg about a
national drive to preserve the
natural beauty of this country
and 1 can go along with a good
part o! it, although first Wash-
ington has to understand my
definition of natural beauty.
Some people I suppose would
consider an electric light polo
unnatural, it didn’t grow there,
but not me. There’s nothing
more naturally beautiful than a
string of poles marching across
the countryside toward your
house bringing power to in elee-
tlie water pump to replace a
rope and bucket. A rope and
backet may be more romantic
looking in a rustic sort of way,
bat if you want to gat complete
ly natural you’d eliminate all
hydrants and have everybody
cup Us hands and drink out of
a spring, preferably barefooted.
One of the major goals t un-
derstand In ttie beauty drive la
to eliminate automobile junk
puds along Ike highways, or at
least screen them tram view, and
I'd like Washington to knew ns
ahead on this. I left a cultivator

greeted each cot as they arriv-

family tree autograph book.
There were 48 attendants. The
albim which bare the picture
of the tree and its branches fill-
ed with lames had two new
branches to be added of new ar-
rivals this year. There were no
deaths to be reported.
The hook lay beside an ar-
rangement of beautiful double
day lfflies, carrying out the co-
lor scheme of orange and green.

to tell of their immediate fami-

Lecy Sharp StiUay early in the

miaeum pieee of the family re-
lies. It was woven into design
of small blocks of many colors.
Also was shown a big, aid Holy
Bible purchased by Mrs Mary

personally as I am still driving
my ear. Also, 1 don’t print news-
papers to ha thrown out of can
to litter up the highways. You
might say I’m in almost total
compliance.
However, there is one plank
in tho beauty program that
seems to me outrageous. Oas of
the members of the planning
group got a little oYer-enteusiis-
tk and wasted to eliminate sag-
ging fences along the highways.
There's nothing mere unattrac-
tive,'’ he said, “than sagging
wires alamg a highway winding
through the calling countryside.’’
