Floyd Patterson, 55, of the
Mt. Zion community suc-
cumbed Sunday night about
11 o’clock.
Definite arrangements as to
time of funeral services, are
not available, the service be-
ing held pending the arrival of
a son, who was expected this
afternoon, it was announced.
Rites will probably be held
sometime Saturday afternoon
at the Powdrill cemetery at
Arcadia.
Mr. Patterson was a native
of Arkansas, coming to Shelby
county when quite small.
Survivors include: His wife;
three daughters, Mrs. Howard
Franks, Mrs. Ernest Craw-
ford and Mrs. Gordon Rogers,
county treasurer, all of Cen-
ter; one son, Pvt. Hoyt Patter-
son. Camp Adair, Oregon; five
•brothers, Frank, Mirt, Eugene,
Lee and Burel Patterson, all of
Center; three sisters, Mrs. Del-
lie Halliburton. Mrs. Mary
Peace, of Center, and Mrs.
Era Harris.’ of Timpson.
Mr. and Mrs. Alton Black-
burn and twin daughters, Pa-
tricia and Judy of Houston,
have returned home after a
visit with the lady’s mother,
Mrs. E. F. Ross of this city.
They were accompanied home
by Miss Lois Ross for a few
days’ visit in Houston.

County Agent J. O. Moos-
berg reports the following in-
formation has been received
from Office of Defense Trans-
portation with reference to
Certificates of War Necessity
where it is evident that error
has been made in allotment
for mileage and gallons of
motor fuel.
The holder of such Certifi-
cate will present same to the
local Rationing Board stating
that he would like to secure a
temporary transport ration of
motor fuel in such amount as
will permit him to operate for
essential purposes up to and
including December 81st,
1942.
The local Board will issue a
Motor Fuel Ration in the
amount requested and such
amount will be deducted at a
later date from the total gal-
lons of motor fuel allowed on
a corrected certificate of War
Necessity.
Such applicant will then go
to Mr. Gilmer Tyson, who is
chairman of the County Farm
Transportation Committee to
make his appeal for a correct-
ed certificate. The regular O.
D. T. Appeal Forms will be
sent to the County Farm
Transportation Committee as
rapidly as possible, and when
these forms are received the
County Committee will make
recommendation to the Dis-
trict Office at Shreveport for a
corrected Certificate of War
Necessity.
Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Ty-
son had not received the sup-
ply" of appeal forms. However,
It is expected that the forms
will be received by the later
part of the week, according to
Mr. Moo?berg.
