- Healthy stands of timber are
To the Citizens of Shelby the best protection against
Count;-: forest insects and diseases.
.It will no: be long until the
August 28th, 1950 election, at
which you will select your
Sheriff for the next two years,
and I appear to you for your
vote and influence to make me
your next Sheriff.
I have never held a public
office, while my opponent is
seeking to be elected for his
third term. I was born and
raised in Shelby county, and
believe that I know just what
you want in the man to be
your Sheriff. I have made the
race and shall continue to
make this race on a high
standard, believing you will
give me the chance to serve
you. I believe I am in every-
way qualified for the office,
and I am in need of the office
to support myself and family.
1 am a married man, with a
wife and four children. Our
oldest son is now in the Army
in’ the Korean area, where
men are daily dying to pre-
serve this our way of life,
which we know is the best
way of life in the world. I am
42 years of age, and am in a
position to serve you, and
make you a good Sheriff.
I pledge you, if elected, to
treat every one fairly, and like
they were human beings, and
every person will be treated in
the same way and manner, as
I would like to be treated, and
I will deal fairly, and diligent-
ly enforce the laws of our
country.
This is the first time I have
asked the people for a public
office, and if you will give me
the chance to be Sheriff, I will
make you a good officer, and
serve you fairly and impartial-
ly, being honest and upright
at all times.
Please remember Earl B.
