Cheerleader tryouts next week

Are you ready to 9ee who will be next
year's cheerleaders and who will be work-
ing hard to support the Owls?
Cheerleading tryouts will be held
April 23-24. Only 10 positions will be filled
from approximately 18 girls.
The candidates will have to perform
in front of three judges and complete a
group cheer, three jumps of their choice.
their own cheer and tumbling exercises.
The following day the girls will have
to do their own cheer in front of the stu-
dent body
The student body will vote on their
choices.
The scores from the judges and the
student elections are combined to select the
cheerleaders.
Owls qualify for regionals

The Hondo Owl Hack teams will
send five relay teams and five individuals
to the regional track meet held in Kingsville
on April 25.
AD three of toe girls relays will be
going on to regional competition as well
as the boy's 400 meter and 1600 meter re-
lays. The girls relays consist of Jennie
Moerbe, Sheila Wieners* Priscilla Amador,
Megan Gilliam and Rakel Thigpen. Run-
ning the boys relays will be Gabe Cortez,
Ryan Wiemers, Cody Dailey, Kris Pope,
and Jose Contreras.
Thigpen will participate in the 300
meter hurdles and the 100 meter hurdles
