Ellis Yau of Hong Kong will speak at the First Baptist Church
of Hondo on Sunday, July 27. The public is invited to hear this
distinguished man at 11:00 A.M. on the final Sunday of this
month.
Dr. Yau is finishing his doctor of theology degree at South-
western Baptist Seminary in Ft Worth. For the past two years
he has been the coordinator of Chinese churches in the city of
Ft. Worth while he has been completing his U.S.A. theological
studies. '
Previous to coming to Texas, Dr. Yau served as associate
Pastor of a 10,000 membership Baptist Church in Hong Kong.
He’s been a seminary professor and a catalytic missionary in
China along with his wife for a number of years.
Bro. Yau is returning to Hong Kong in September to take up
new responsibilities. He’s not sure of the future of his “home
town.” He anticipates “dark days” in that country where Hong
Kong returned to Chinese rule on July 1 of this year.
We can be God’s ambassadors of redemption and peace in
Hondo as well as some one else who serves in Hong Kong.
Jesus says to us all, “Come, take up your cross, and follow
me.” Will we do it?

Hi
^^he sun sets over o
green valley. Flowers draw
petals dose, and mountains
seem to stretch their tawny
peaks as if preparing for
a good niqnt's sleep. How
beautiful, now tender is rest.
How much more beautiful
is that rest everlasting
which marks an end of
earthly strife and sorrow.
To surround the passing of a loved one with all the beauty and dignity
that befits the occasion, is the ideal which finds fulfillment
in every funeral service we conduct.
