Stiteler seeks Place 2 seat
Earlier this week, I announced my
intention to run for Hondo City
Council, Place 2.1 am very concerned
about dissension among the current
council, and feel that individual agen-
das and personal animosities have
marred their effectiveness. Comments
and speculation about how to restore
responsible government are not
enough; I want to actively serve this
community I have lived and worked
in for 19 years.
I began teaching at Hondo High
School in 1979, and served as Vice
Principal for two years. I am now
Director of Transportation and Main-
tenance for Hondo Independent
School District. My wife Laurie
practiced law in Hondo for many
years, and my sons Hank and Joe
grew up here. T have always been
involved in our community. I am a
member of Hondo Lions Club and
Medina County Farm Bureau, and
serve on the Church Council at St.
Paul Lutheran Church. I have been
a director on both the Medina County
Fair Board and the Jr. Livestock
Board. I have been involved in vari-
ous capacities with 4H, FFA, Young

to the continued growth and improve-

tantly, your vote on May 1st.

I, Carmen Hernandez, announce
my candidacy for re-election to the
Hondo City Council Place #2 in the
coming May election.
1 was born and raised in Hondo;
attended school here then attended
San Antonio College for courses in
business, mental health and psychol-
ogy. I have been active in civic and
church affairs all my adult life, even
while raising my children and three
grandchildren. Prior to retirement
due to disability, I worked as a men-
tal health counselor with adolescents
for Bexar County Mental Health
Mental Retardation.
Since retiring, I have been self cm
ployed as a notary public, income tax
preparer and helping people gel So-
cial Security, disability and to be-
come U S. citizens, etc. I am also
active in civic and church organiza-
tions. I am a member of the St. John’s
Catholic Church finance committee,
secretary/reporter of the Guadalu-
pana Society, and International Com-
mittee Chairman of the Hondo Dean-
ery. I also serve as lector and usher,
was recently was commissioned as
eucharistic minister, and am a mem-
ber of the bereavement and hospital
visitation committees.
As a housewife, grandmother and
great-grandmother with four years
experience as city council member,
I feel that I have the experience nec-
essary to be able to manage a city
budget wisely and make the right
decisions concerning our city and its

^Precinct 2 Commissioner, Stanley

‘Mrill there be any changes or cuts in
