Over 6,000 fans were pre-
sent at V. J. Keefe Field in
Sari Antonio last Tuesday
evening when the El Paso
Diablos played the San An-
tonio Dodgers. There to
entertain the fans was the
nat tonally known San Diego
Chicken, who really made a
big hit with the children.
Among those attending the
game were Mr. and Mrs.
Alfred Haby and Jaclyn and
Mr and Mrs. William McMil-
linn El Paso won 2-0 and we
hear that Jaclyn even got a
big kiss from the Chicken.
The El Charro-Rudy's Gulf
Team from Castroville had a
very successful season, win-
ning 1st place in the Natalia
Sr. League by defeating a
team from Devine 14-13 in
the playoffs. Those named to
the All Stars from the!local
team were Sylvia Garcia and
Trinket Keller. Congratula-
tions, girls!!!
Last Monday, S-Sgt.
Thomas Haby-returned to
Hampton, Virginia, by plane
after attending a week-long
conference at Kelly Air
Force Base. Before he de-
parted a supper was enjoyed
by his family and friends at
the Haby Place on Medina
Lake. Those attending the
supper and wishing Tommy
farewell were Mrs. Buddy
Ford and boys, Buddy and
Paul and their cousin, Stan-
ley, Mr. and Mrs Alton
Stein and Gary, Mr and
Mrs. Arthur Haby, Sn, Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Haby, Jr.,
and children, Rustin and
Janna, and Mr. and Mrs.
William Haby and children,
Johnny and Jerod. Tommy’s
wife, Carol, and baby daugh-
ter, Spring Marie, remained
with relatives for an extend-
ed visit.
Our sympathy is extended
to the family of Mr. Bernard
Fitzsimon who passed away
on August 15, 1981. He will
be missed by all those who
Iknew him. (Complete obitu-
