Bo Nora Robert and Son
Oleta Swope wife of Super-
tendent D. 'A. Swope. was no
ticed rushing from one side of
the grand-stand to the other
at a baseball game here last
week. One spectator thought
that her husband had her out
chasing foul balls but when
the man asked her if the ath
letic department wns in that
bad shape he learned that she
was only chasing two future
Bartlett baseball players her
sons D. A. and Bruce.

We have heard of women hat-
ing to admit their ages but wo
found nnother man last week
who was perfectly ill because
he celebrated his 30th birthday
anniversary. If Marcus would
only look in the mirror ho would
know that a man with a receed-
ing hair-line like his could never
pass for a young boy in his
twenties. We think that his
EGO was upped ten years re-
cently when he won a trophy
at a basketball tournament but
we agree with his wife Jalanc.
It wns for being the eldest
man in the gymnasium . . wttn

We saw sisters Mrs James
Wheeler and Mrs. Harold Clark
fussing over who was going to
pay for lunch in a local cafe
last week. It was quite a dif
ferent thing at the other side
of us. It seems that Ed Nauert
has an impediment in his reach
for the check and Marie his
wife usually picks them up.
There is still time to plant
rose bushes blpoming hedge
small trees gladioli bulbs. Wa-
ter wpll when putting them into
the ground. Get Dahlias plant-
ed now. Put them where they
will be protected from the di-
rect sun during the middle of
the day and in the afternoon.
Dahlias like rich soil and plenty
of water; given these they will
produce a prolific crop of fine
big blooms. Water towns o&
cosionally until the spring
RAINS come.
