Tuesday was presented an Omega watch. Present-
ing the watch at left is Stan Gorman, District • ,
Plant, Superintendent of the Uvalde District, and
W. J. Scott, Supervisor Wire Chief of the Uvalde
District. Ledbetter joined the company in San
Antonio in 1942, He worked nine years there,
seven in Laredo and has been in Hondo the rest of
the time. Active in the Lions CJub and other civ-
ic activities, Ledbetter presently is a director of
the Hondo Chamber of Commerce.

meanders through beautiful
country all the way to Ban-
dera. About 23 miles north'
of Hondo on tills route Is an
authentic set of dinasour
tracks. On private property,
they can be viewed for by a
small donation.
"7. In Hondo we have
still standing one of the first
two homes built in the town
back In. 187 6.
"8. Our Hondo Garden
Club has done wonders In
beautifying a 2 pilk long
strip of the SP right-of-way
going through town. So
much in fact that we liave
visitors from other cities
wanting to see how it was
done.
"Frank, here we have to
rest our case for Hondo. We
hope the evidence Is strong
enough that Hondo can re-
ceive some favorable reaction
from the committee which
determines this action. "

Church for Hester Lee Vick-
ers, 55, who passed away
January 14, 1973 in Metho-
dist Hospital, San Antonio.
Born in Medina County
October 27, 1917, tiie daugh-
ter of the late August E. and
Mary (Heyen) Schuehle, Mrs.
Vickers had made her resi- ”
deuce in San Antonio, She
was a member of the Luther-

Officiating at the service
was Rev. A. M. Hannemann,
pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran
Church, Hondo. Interment
was in Oakwood Cemetery,
under tiie direction of Guinri-

Mrs. Vickers Is survived
by one son, Michael Eugene
Vickers of San Antonio; and
two daughters, Mrs. Tim (Pa-
trick) Marshall, Fort Collen,
Colo., Mrs. Kenneth Lee
