PFC Jacob Reinartz
Reinartz jumps in joint readiness test
PFC Jacob Reinartz participated
in an airborne joint readiness exer-
cise on May 28 at Sicily Drop Zone,
Ft. Bragg, N.C., along with 600
members of the 2nd Battalion 504th
Parachute Infantry Regiment.
This para drop was a mass tacti-
cal heavy drop with trucks, heavy ar-
tillery and other equipment chuted
to earth before the infantry jumped,
this exercise was viewed by some
5,000 airborne dignitaries, foreign
officers and civilian guest (ex-para-
troopers of the 82nd ABN Division)
as part of all American Airborne
week at Ft. Bragg.
A mass tactical exercise sees an
entire airborne task force dropped
from 800 feet in approximately 2 1/
2 minutes (all 600 members). This
was done while A-10 wart hogs flew
soften up missions and followed by
further infantry and heavy equip-

Sqd. 1st Platoon 2BAH 504th Inf.
Reg. He is an M240B machine gun-
ner and primarily jumps at night from
800 ft. to secure an enemy airfield.
PFC Reinartz is due to enter Pre
Ranger training and follow on
Ranger School, the last week of June.
Ranger School is among the top two
army schools for difficulty.
Jacob is a 1998 graduate from
Hondo High School and entered the
infantry immediately after graduation.
His parents, Doris and Eugene
Reinartz, drove to Ft. Bragg to observe
All American Week with the para-
troopers 82nd ABN Division. They
were thrilled to watch 14,000 para-
troopers on one huge parade field at
one time for the Division's annual pa-
rade and massing of its colors.
