the average Joe on the street is
probably feeling the effects of the
housing crisis most intensely in this
area.
“If you’re young don’t do any-
thing,” advised Cecil Langston of
Church Street financial Services.
“If you have six years or more until
retirement you’ve got time to re-
coup any losses."
You should make sure your in-
vestment and/or retirement portfo-
lio is well di\ersified and meet with
your tinar .ial advisor at least annu-
ally to re-evaluate your holdings.
Langston said that investors who
are retired or close to retirement
should definitely be looking at their
investments with their advisors if
they haven’t done so already.
“The banking crisis is an easy
thing, it’s black and white regard-
ing your FDIC coverage. The stock
market has lots of gray areas and
what might be a good portfolio for
one person may not be so good for
another. That’s why it is important
to have an advisor to guide you in
those decisions.”
