be made- from new growth,”
stated Miss Sadie Lee Oliver,
Home Demonstration Agent, who
directed a cutting bed demon-
stration in a meeting of the
Dawn Home Demonstration club
at the home of Mrs. Mart
Burum, Wednesday afternoon.
"A long list of plants may be
propagated by cuttings. The
stems should be cut on a slant
for protection from Injury, and
the cut should be made with
a sharp knife to avoid bruised
plaoes, which Induce rot. The
cutting bed should be deeply
spaded and the cuttings should
be planted In trenches rather
than pushed ino the ground
as this breaks or Injuries the
buds. Roots grown on nodes or
callous should be at least two
nodes should be underground.”
