Gaines County Extension Agent Libbi Garnett leads a group of
local 4-H girls through a step in a modeling clinic at the
extension office Tuesday and Wednesday
Several members of the
Seminole High School band have
recently participated in band
camps.
The SHS band Flag Corps
attended the Texas Tech Band
Book deadline
set Wednesday
Youngsters participating in the
summer reading club at the
Gaines County Library are
reminded that Wednesday is the
deadline to receive reading
certificates.
As well as the beginning of the
period when youngsters can be
presented with reading
certificates, July 30 is the date
set for a great skill and
concentration performance by a
Camp in Lubbock from July 13-
18. Flag Corps members include:
Susan Devitt, Sandra Sanchez,
Lacy Brown, Kerry McCoy,
Ruby Garcia, Shelley Scott,
Esodulia Espinoza, Rebecca
Bailiff and Stacy Gonzales.
Also attending the camp were
band members Chris Gady,
Rudy Condarco, and Jason
Rodriguez: The hand camp tor
the trip, which also began July
13, finished on Friday.
The SHS twirlers attended a
twirling camp at Angelo State
University in San Angelo, also
July 13-18 Attending the camp,
which sharpened the twirlers’
skills for the upcoming football
season were Sarah Campbell,
Sheri West, Mindy Linthicum
and Soma McCan
Gowdy earns DVM degree
Gayland Gowdy, a 1975
graduate or Seminole High
School, received his doctor of
veterinary medicine degree
during spring commencement
exercises at Texas A&M
University.
Attending the graduation
exercises at College Station were
his parents, Mr and Mrs.
Earnest Gowdy, long-time
residents of Seminole and now of
Bronte, and his sister and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Jay Hart and son,
Jeffrey of Albuquerque, N.M.
Dr Gowdy is now practicing
small animal medicine at Sheen
Animal Clinic In Odessa.
