District Opener
The Windthorst Trojans ran into a
buzzsaw Friday night in the form of the
Alvord Buldogs. The Bulldogs, ranked
#10 in the state in Class A, dominated
play at Trojan Field and won the District
11-A opener 33-0.
"We didn't play that badly," said Tro-
jan mentor Todd Kimrey. "They arejust
a very good football team."
After a scoreless first quarter, Alvord
hit pay-dirt on runs of 40, 76, and 23
yards for a 20-0 halftime lead. The
Bulldogs added a TD in each of the last
two frames.
The Trojans had 91 yards of offense led
by Cody Wolfs 51 yards in 8 carries.
Defensively Brent Hoff had 11 tackles
and 5 assists; Chris Bachman, 7 tackles
and 9 assists; and Brandon Stemadel, 6
tackles and 3 assists. Jesse Sapp recov-
ered a fumble and blocked an extra
point.
The Trojans will travel to Throckmor-
ton Friday (tomorrow) to take on the 2-
2-1 Greyhounds. They are 0-0-1 in Dis-
trict 11-A play after tieing Chico 14-14
last week.
Gametime is set for 7:30 p.m.

The JV lost a hardfought battle 12-14.
Chris Koetter scored both touchdowns.

The JV will play in Petrolia Thursday
