Rebecca Pellikan
Rebecca Elizabeth Pellikan, infant
daughter of Donald and Lydia Pellikan
of Illinois, died Monday, October 4,
1993 at Marion Memorial Hospital.
Services were Friday, October 8, at
Trinity United Methodist Church in
West Frankfort, Illinois with the Rev.
James Slone officiating. Burial was in
Scenic Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother and fa-
ther; grandparents Howard and Patsy
Barton of Archer City and Donald and
Martha Pellikan of Grafton, Illinois;
great-grandparents Jess and Johnnie
Jacobs of Fort Worth and Ted and Iola
Barton of Rising Star; and several aunts
and uncles.
Maggie Whisenant
Maggie Mae Whisenant, 85, died
Monday, October 4,1993, in an Archer
City nursing home.
Graveside services were Wednesday
in Archer City Cemetery with Roger
Deerinwater, pastor of First Baptist
Church, officiating. Arrangements were
under the directon of Aulds Funeral
Home.
Mrs. Whisenant was bom April 28,
1903 near Collinsville in Grayson
County. She had lived in Archer City
since the early 1980s. She was a Baptist.
Her son. R.L. Jr. died August 1, 1986.
Survivors include one daughter-in-
law, Pat Whisenant of McAllen; three
grandchildren; and seven great-grand-
children.
Mildred Schaefer
Mildred Lorene Schaefer, 71, died
Wednesday, October 6,1993, in a Wic-
hita Falls nursing home.
Graveside services were 11 a.m. Fri-
day in Mineral Wells Cemetery. Ar-
rangements were under the direction of
Owens and Brumley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Schaefer was bom June 10,1922
in Rogers.
Survivors include three brothers, Paul
of Holliday, Richard of Victoria and
Frank of Garland; and a sister, Clara
Murrah of Holliday.
Ouida Coleman
Ouida Vincent Coleman, 60, died Fri-
day,October8, 1993, in her home on the
Coleman Ranch in northern Archer
County.
Services were Monday at 3 p.m. at
Aulds Funeral Home with Roger Deer-
inwater, pastor of First Baptist Church,
officiating. Burial was in Crestview
Memorial Park in Wichita Falls.
Mrs. Coleman was bom December 26,
1932, the daughter of Robert L. Vincent
and Lucy Guthrie Vincent, in Wichita
Falls. She and Don Coleman were mar-
ried May 8, 1970 in Wichita Falls. She
then moved to the Coleman Ranch. She
was an Episcopalian. She was a former
resident of Wichita Falls and had
Terrie Lambert
Terrie Sidonia Lambert, 40, of Lewis-
ville died Sunday, October 10, 1993,
from an aneurysm in a Lewisville hospi-
tal.
Memorial services were 4 p.m. Wed-
nesday at Christ Lutheran Church of
Arrowhead Ranch Estates with Pastor
Paul Nash officiating. Arrangements
were under the direction of Lunn's Colo-
nial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lambert was bom July 13,1953
in Vernon. She was a former Wichita

RIF Has First Book
Distribution Of The Year
"Sometimes You Just Have To
STOP...And Read A Book!" was the
RIF (reading is fundamental) theme for
the Archer Elementary school. The first
distribution of the year was held Sep-
tember 30th in the Elementary library.
There were 520 books available for the
distribution. Each of the 250 students
enrolled at the Elementary school re-
ceived a book from PTA and RIF.

worked for several insurance companies
in the Wichita Falls area.
Pallbearers were Dale Coleman,
Danny Coleman, Doyle Coleman, Doug
Coleman and Dave Coleman.
Survivors include her husband; a
daughter, Cyndi Myers of Dallas; two
sons, Cal Myers of Rowlett and Scott
Myers of Birmingham, Alabama; a step-
daughter, Kenda Rankin of Friberg
Community; two stepsons, Rex of Lake
Kickapoo and Todd of Corpus Christi;
six grandchildren; and a great-grand-
child.
Memorials may be made to the Ameri-
can Cancer Society.
Falls resident. She was a graduate of
Rider High School and Midwestern
State University. She taught at Archer
City schools for a year and at Ben Fran-
klin Elementary School for 12 years.
She was an artist and taught private art
lessons. She was a protestant.
Survivors include two daughters, Car-
rie Thomason and Tonya Thomason,
both of Wichita Falls; her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Sid Lambert of Wichita Falls;
and a grandson.

RTF is a nation-wide program to help
encourage and motivate children to read
and to be creative and have fun when
they read. Brenda Garrett, RIF chairper-
son, and Carlene Merritt, RIF assistant,
want to remind parents that reading is
the foundation to their child's entire
education.
Antelope
Jamboree
Antelope is having their monthly Sat-
urday night jamboree October 16 at 6
p.m. at the Community Center in Ante-
lope. There will be homemade cakes and
pies, sandwiches and cold drinks for
sale. Admission at the door will be $ 1.00
for adults and 50 cents for children.
Door prizes will be given.
All musicians are invited to participate
in the program and the public is invited
to come and enjoy the good music.
Archer Cancer Society
Meets Crusade Goal
The Archer County Unit of the Ameri-
can Cancer Society met September 16
with president Roy Wolf presiding.
Sherry Cannedy, staff representative,
reported this year’s Crusade goal was
met. $655 in Memorials were given in
memory of: Sonny Lavender, Lonnie
Moore, Landry, Charlie Green, Dick
Coleman, Connie Yates, O'Keefe, and
David Dietert. Present were: Pauline
Patrick, Ruth Moore, Bertie Nelson,
Inez Bratt, Lena Kinsey, Roy Wolf and
Sherry Cannedy. The next meeting will
be October 21st at 1st State Bank at 6
p.m.
Archer Service Center
Offers Class
The Archer Service Center is offering
a class on making decorative ribbon
bows. The class is for all interested
adults. Class will be October 19 begin-
ning at 1:30. Bring your own ribbon and
have fun learning a new craft.
