Jessie Davis
Signs With SWT
Jessie Dnvis prize tailback
of Bartlctt High School has
signed a letter of intent to play
football for Southwest Texas
State University and as Conch
Bill JMiller of SWT states "has
become the first school boy to
sign a football preenrollment
agreement with Southwest Tex-
as State University.
Davis 6-0195 gained more
than 5000 yards during his
high school carreer under Coach
Robert Campbell including
1683 last season. An All-Dis
trict choice in 28A the running
tack scored 14 touchdowns and
"was named to CenTex all-star
teams by the Austin American
(Statesman and Temple Daily
Telegram.
As a sophomore Davis was a
first team all-stato choice by
the Texas Sports Writers Ass-
ociation. He played linebacker
and safety on defense and plays
basketball and runs track for
Bartlctt High School. As a son
ihomore Davis was sixth in the
220 at the state track meet and
last year he was second in the
440 with a 49.2.

To Rogers 66-63
Bartlctt Bulldogs lost to
Rogers 66-63 Tuesday night
in Rogers.
Larry Flowers led the Bull-
dogs with 15 points and Rick-
ey Rector scored 14 points.
Bartlctt will play Pflugor-
ville here Friday night with
the "B" team boys to begin at
5:30 p. m.

a.m. on Feb. 9th in Austin.
This event is the kick-off of
the Capitol Area Councl Scout-O-Rama
and will involve 6000
Scouts Cubs and Explorers
from some 45 cities and towns
in this area. Governor Briscoo
and Mayor Butler and many
other civic and scout leaders
will participate in the parade.
Marching in the parade will be
the special Scout delegation to
the State drawn from through
out the Slate of Texas. Immed
iately following the parade this
delegation will make its annual
"Report to the Governor" at the
House of Representatives in the
Capitol.
