er consideration for the state’s
senior citizens.
Formby lives at Plainview.
He was born in Hopkins Coun-
ty. He is a practicing attor-
ney, farmer and co-owner of
four Texas radio stations.

Charles Kellstadt says this
would be in addition to the com-
pany’s current level of aid to
education.
Kellstadt makes his an-
nouncement in a speech prepar-
ed for the poor Richard Club
in Philadelphia, marking the
256th anniversary of Benjamin
F’ranklin’s birth. Kellstadt says:
“It seems to me that the pat-
tern of suppoTt by all those
who see it as their duty and ob-
ligation to contribute to high-
er education must more and)
more take the form of unre-
stricted grants."
Kellstadt says the one mil-
lion dollars would be distribut-
ed during 1962 to accredited,
privately - supported colleges
and universities across the

the hunted driver.
A witness to the hit-and-run
accident in which 4-year-old
Mark Allen Goodwin was killed
last Sunday gave police artists
a vivid description of the death
car driver.
Lieutenant Raymond Rous-
ette of the Brownsville police
said the youth has not been
charged.
The boy told police he swerv-

line explosion at Phillips Petrol-
eum Company booster plant,

Burger’s North. Plains Hospital.
Remaining in critical con-
dition are two more women and
a 5-year-old girl. In the most
critical condition are the little
girl, Linda Osteen, and 42-
year-old Mis. Cora Alexander.
The gas line blew up with a
mighty, flaming roar, setting
several homes at the Phillip’s
community camp for employes
on fire. Two of the homes were
destroyed and another badly
damaged.
