district attorney, Henry Wade,
said yesterday that he may be
forced to dismiss between
1,000 and 1,500 pending crim-
inal cases if Governor Connal-
ly signs the criminal code re-
vision bill.

Beacon Hill apartment in Bos-

to a daughter.
The 21-year-old post deb-
utante, a niece of actor Mont-
gomery Clift, was admitted to
Boston Lying-in Hospital last
night and the baby was born
several hours later, a few min-
j utes before midnight.
Miss Clift pleaded . guilty
Feb. 11 to manslaughter in the
gunshot death of 27-year-old
European - born Piero Bren-
tan i in her bedroom last Oct.
1. She was placed on ten years’
probation on the condition she
undergo mental treatment.
Miss Clift was brought to
the hospital from the Massachu-
setts Mental Health Center in
Boston's R o x b u r y section,
where she is receiving treat-
ment:.
She said at the time of her
probation sentencing that it
would give her “a chance to be
