Alice Bakers piano solo an excellent per-

strictest congregation of the Auld Kirk
would have had no fault to find with his
demeanor and the laughter that greeted
him and tho Instant recognition ot the
book represented showed how well ho took
his part Tho final tltln was also unusual-

evening to her friends and those of her
guests Rabbi and Mrs Voorsangor of San
Francisco to whom so many courtesies
have been shown by the people of their
old home Dr Voorsanger says that there
is a hidden truth in the saying that onco
you drink of tho bayou water you will
ever thereafter bo drawn back to Houston
for although Mr and Mrs Voorsanger love
their homo at the Golden Gate of the Pa-
cific still they feel Irresistibly drawn back
to Houston from tlmo to tlmo as tho years
roll by That the glorious climate and
tho picturesque scenery of Calltonfla can

of their Texan friends nor cease to long
for tho sweet balmy summer nights that
are ono of Texas greatest cbarms
Mrs Rich took delight In opening her

It does say that tho evil Institutions ot

is what Christ called the end of tho age
which he said would tako place at his sec-
ond coming In Matthew xtl xMv aud
scxvll chapters our Lord used the expies
slon end of the age five times Christ
used tho Greek word nlon meaning
age dispensation but It has been trans-
lated world which Is misleading Tho
word alon Is translated world
throughout tho New Testament So with
ihe word kosraos which however has
a broader use than nton Tho Bible
teaching throughout is that the end uf
the age nnd Christs second coming are
for tho purpose of ushorlng In a better age
for which all people aro praying Thy

as It Is ln Heaven It Christ knew that
the literal earth was going to be burned

Tbo writers of tho Old Testament used
tho Hebrew word sheol manning un-

writers of the Now Testament and our
Lord used tho Greek word hades moan-

been translated hell and one time grave
Neither sheol nor hades which the
writers used meant fire or torment In any

gehonnn which has been translated
