FEIST
Kenneth Wayne Feist,
age 69, passed away on
Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at
his home in Comanche, Texas.
He was born on February
8,1944, in San Angelo, Texas,
to Lee Allen and Esther “Bill”
(Seal) Feist. On July 2, 1961,
he was united in marriage to
Mavis Timmons in Acuna,
Mexico. He was a devoted
husband, father, grandfather
and great-grandfather.
Kenneth was interested in
many facets of life. For forty
years he was an owner and
operator of Feist Construction
in Comanche, while also
raising livestock and owning
a grape vineyard. He was
Commissioner for Comanche
County for several years, and

at the Courthouse. He was an
avid deer hunter and enjoyed
the outdoors, his farm, and
his livestock. His hobbies
included hunting, re-loading
and snow skiing. Kenneth
was a charter member of
Hope Lutheran Church in
Comanche.
He is survived by his wife,
Mavis Feist of Comanche;
sons, Neil Feist and wife
Teresa of Dublin, Dendy Feist
and wife Lexie of Comanche,
and Kelly Feist and wife
Sharia of Comanche; eight
grandchildren, Brittainy
Hertel and husband Jason,
Brandon Feist and wife
Courtney, Holly Mills and
husband Jared, Schazden
Feist and wife Leah, Chayden
Feist, Shelden Feist and
wife Tabitha, Kelci Feist,
and Colton Feist; four great-
grandchildren, Brylen,
Bryson, Jaysa Kate, and
Tytan; brothers, Lohman
Feist and wife Vernell of
Priddy, and Donald Feist and
wife Jeannie of Comanche;
and numerous nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents, L. A. and
“Bill” Feist; one sister, Peggy
Feist; and one brother, Jack
Feist.
Funeral Services were
held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday,
July 28, 2013, at Comanche
Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Glenn Dittmer
officiating. Burial followed
in Downing Cemetery in
Comanche County. Comanche
Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.

MILLER
David M. “D.M.” Miller,
age 90, passed away on
Thursday, July 25, 2013, in
Gustine, Texas.
He was born on April 28,
1923, in Runnels County,
Texas, to Alton D. and Mary
(Stratton) Miller. He was
a U.S. Army veteran. On
September 8, 1959, he was
united in marriage to Dorothy
Casey in Brownwood. She
preceded him in death on
January 15, 2010. D.M. was a
retired farmer.
He is survived by his sister,
Peggy Bartlet of El Paso;
and numerous nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in
death by two brothers, Jessie
Miller and Dudly Miller;
and one sister, Ruth Miller
Hanson.
Graveside Services
were held at 10:00 a.m. on
Saturday, July 27, 2013, at
Union Cemetery in Comanche
County. Comanche Funeral
Home is in charge of
arrangements.

Rafela “Nancy” Alvarado
Gauna, age 68, of Comanche,
Texas passed away Thursday,
July 25,2013.
Graveside service, under
the direction of Heartland
Funeral Home of Comanche,
was held at 3:00 p.m. on
Sunday, July 28, 2013 at
the Oakwood Cemetery in
Comanche. A Rosary service
was held at 7:00 p.m. on
Saturday, July 27 at the
Heartland Chapel.

Rafela was born May
20, 1945 in Port Lavaca,
Texas, to Victor and Manuela
Maldonado Estrada. She was
a member of the Catholic
Church, and a long time
resident of Comanche County.
She is survived by her
husband of 33 years, Cecil
Gauna; daughters, Brenda
Moreno and husband David
of Comanche, Margie
Frausto of Comanche,
Maryann Dickenson and
husband Dave of Granbury,
and Christi Suniga and
husband JR of Sidney; sons,
Francisco Alvarado, Jr. and
Willie Alvarado, both of
Comanche; 8 grandsons;
12 granddaughters; 9 great-
grandchildren; and brothers
and sisters. She was preceded
in death by both parents.
She was loved and will be
missed by many, “Our Angel.”
GOSSETT
Kenneth “Possum”
Gossett, 74, of Comanche,
Texas passed away on
Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
Funeral services, under the
direction of Heartland Funeral
Home of Comanche, will be
held at 10:00 am on Thursday,
August 1, 2013, at the
Heartland Chapel with Bro.
Steven Schulte officiating.
Interment will follow in the
Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
on Wednesday, July 31 at
Heartland.

Kenneth was born October
15, 1938, to William Albert
and Mary Lera (Davis)
Gossett in Comanche, Texas.
He graduated from Comanche
High School, class of 1957,
began college at Eastern
Oklahoma State College, and
graduated from Howard Payne
College in Brownwood in
1961. After college, Kenneth
served in the United States
Army and was stationed in
West Berlin, West Germany,
during the Berlin Airlift.
After his military service,
Kenneth began his career
as an educator at Garland
ISD where he was a Coach,
Teacher, Assistant Principal,
and Principal. He retired
after 32 years and returned to
Comanche. Overall, he lived
in Comanche for over 40
years. Kenneth filled much of
his time playing golf, fishing,
playing more golf, and caring
for his lawn, which always
had to be the best in the
neighborhood.
Kenneth is survived by
his wife of 27 years, Susan
Gossett; sons, Kenny Gossett
of Irving, and Jeff Gossett
and his wife, Alicia, of
Grand Prairie; grandchildren,
Wesley Gossett, Miranda
Gossett, and one more on
the way, and Shane Eaton of
Comanche; and numerous
cousins and many friends. He
was preceded in death by his
parents, Bill and Lera Gossett;
brother, Dwain Gossett; and
several aunts and uncles.

Toby Lee White, 37, of
Stephenville, Texas passed
away on July 27, 2013 at his
residence.
He was born on January
16, 1976 in Dublin, Texas
to Ronald Dale and Donnie
Ann McMillan White. He
graduated from Dublin High
School in 1994, and was
employed in retail sales at
