Producer celebrating 46 years of championship rodeos
The Wing Rodeo Company
originated in 1967 with one goal
in mind: to produce the best,
most colorful and most profes-
sional rodeos in the country.
Wing Rodeo’s reputation
can speak for itself today, as
that goal has been achieved
with great success, stressed Jer-
ald Smith, who with his wife,
Joan, owns the company.
All events in rodeo are im-
portant to the Wing Rodeo
Company. Today, the company
promotes nine championship
events at the rodeo. Regular
events include bareback, saddle
bronc, steer wrestling, tie-down
calf roping, team roping, bar-
rel racing, bull riding, and the
newest addition - ranch bronc
riding.

The company’s goal is to re-
main the best at what it does,
from high school rodeos to the
four professional associations it

sanctioned events around the
four state area.
The Wing Rodeo Company
has furnished livestock for ro-
deos such as the Pasadena Live-
stock Show, Siloam Springs,
Ark. and numerous others in
Northeast Texas, Oklahoma,
and Arkansas. In addition, the
company provided stock for
the Huntsville Prison Rodeo
(1931-86), the last 15 years it
was conducted.
In 2004, they owned the finals
bull for the UPRA finals - #146
and bareback horse - #644. Their
bull #554 tied with another area
company for the “Bucking Bull
of the Year” title.

won numerous livestock awards
