WIESENTHAL FETED - Simon Wiesenthai (second from left), world-famous Nazi
hunter, was honored recently in New York on the occasion of his 75th birth-
day by the Simon Wiesenthai Center. The dinner, attended by over 600 guests,
was chaired by ABC News correspondent Barbara Walters (second from right)
while Alan Greenberg (right), New York businessman and a member of the
Wiesenthai Center's Fellows Society, served as co-chair. Rabbi Marvin Hier (left),
founder and Dean of the Wiesenthai Center, delivered a tribute to the Nazi hunt-
erwho has apprehended over 1,100 criminals since the end of World War II.

TAKING STOCK IN ORT — Arthur Levitt, Jr. (center), Chairman of the Board of the American Stock
Exchange, led the signing of the Pledge to the Children of ORT in the AMEX boardroom during
the recent planning reception for the Amercian ORT Federation Scholarship Dinner in honor of New York
Mayor Edward I. Koch slated for September 20 at the Vista International Hotel at the World
Trade Center. Looking on were Harold Friedman (left), partner, Neuberger and Berman and Ameri-
can ORT Federation Honorary President and Shelley Appleton (right), World ORT Union Execu-
tive Committee Chairman.
WILL CONTINUE TO QUESTION AND PROBE - U.S. Senator Alfonse D’Amato addresses a protest rally
attended by various human rights organizations following his denial of a visa by Soviet authori-
ties. Joining the Senator is (left) Tania Yanelevich, stepdaughter of Soviet dissident Andrei Sakharov.
D’Amato vowed to continue to press for information regarding Sakharov and other Russian dissidents.
New York Republican is a member of the Helsinki Commission which reviews human rights

Mr. Leavitt, who is serving as Chairman for the dinner, noted that "raising scholarship funds for the needy
and deserving children at ORT schools throughout the world is a fine and important task and fitting trib-
ute to Mayor Koch.”
The planning meeting was attended by some fifty leaders of business and industry from the New York
area.
