May 15.
The raiu fell in torrents here for
about four hours this morning.
Most af the farmers have their
cotton out of the weeds and corn
and sorghum are growing rapidiy.
The jfish potato crop is not quite
as large as last year but, of course,
we always have some far sale.
The exhibition at the close of
Miss Angerstein’s school Friday
night was greatly enjoyed by all.
The valedictory address closed the
exercises about 10:30, after which
Judge Shaper'Nvas introduced by
Miss Angerstein and he gave a
most interesting and instructive
address.
Quite a number of Weserites en-
joyed a fish fry Monday. Of course
everybody had to fish before noon
but the afternoon was spent boat
riding, croquet, card games, etc.,
and in the evening there was a
card party at the hospitable home
of Mrs. F. Arnold.
Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Webb of
Weesatche paid our burg a short
visit one day last week.
Miss Gerhardt, one of York-
town’s most charming young la-
dies, is visiting the Misses Arnold.
Albert Duderstadt passed thru
here from Meyersville this moru-

pened to a very painful accideut.
While caressing a young horse,
the animal showed his opposition
