death of our mother, Mrs.
Dexter Gilger.

a patient in Newman Mem-
orial Hospital, Shattuck,
recovering from orthopedic
surgery.

fined to bed at home due to
an old back inj ury.

tion at Hot Springs, Ark.,
and Aztec, New Mexico.,

Mr. Pete Travis and Mr.
A.M. Daily were in Kansas
City, Missouri this past
week for the ball games.
Ella Gilger, daughter of
Henry and Lucy Smith, was
born in Clay County, Illinois
Tuly 13, 1879 and departed
from this life June 20, 1963,
at the age of 83 years, 11
months and 7 days.
Shortly after the opening
of the Cherokee Strip, Ella
came to Oklahoma and lived
15 miles east of Enid, in
Garfield County. She was
united in marriage to Dexter
Gilger, August 1, 1900 and
in 1903 they homesteaded
in Beaver County, Okla.
To this union were born
4 children: Chester of Enid,
Russell of Logan, two dau-
ghters, Pauline Davis and
Irene Benjegerdes, both of
Alva, Okla.,Besides her 4
children, she is survived by
six grand children and 12
great grand children. Her
husband preceded her in
death in 1954.
Mrs. Gilger placed her
membership in the Darrou-
zett First Methodist Church
in 1956, when she moved
into town from the farm.
Funr-.dl services were
held in First Methodist
Church, Interment in Kiowa
Cemetery in Beaver County.

RELATIVES HERE
Mr. and Mrs. Monte
Dowdy of Espanola, New
Mexico were in town several
days last week visiting
Mrs. Dowdy’s grandmother,
Mrs. Gracie Hennigh and
other relatives.
Mrs. Dowdy is the former
Helen Hennigh and a former
Darrouzett resident.
