Texas pledgps herself to hold
for Hot cotton and the early froet
will cause price to go up
The frost wus heavy in the Ter-
ritory and in reported to hnvo kill
cd nearly nl the top crop of cotton
Extonsivo additions have recent-
ly been made to the Bonhnm Cot-
ton Mill aud a large amount of ad-
ditional machinery insailed Tho
capacity of the mill is now increas-
ed and the management will en-
deavor to oatoh up with orders hb
they havo had more than Ihey
could possibly fill for the last six
month The daily capacity is now
10000 yards The mills are now
at work on an order from Shang
hai China which calls for 300
bales of 800 yards each In all this
shipment will contain 240 000
yardB of cloth and will be shipped
direct from Bonham to China In
view of the phenominnl success of
this and many other Texas mills
it is remarkable that there is not
more capital invested in the cotton
manufacturing industry in this
Btato The establishment of 6iich
enterprrees is ono way to keep the
price of the raw product at its real
worth us well as beim a factor in
the general upbuilding of the state
industrially Tho advantage of
having the cotton mill in the cotton
patch bo to Bpeak is becoming
more apparent to northern capital-
ists and nothing is so convincing
as the declaration of good healthy
dividends Dallas News
The foregoing ia taken from the
Dallas News It is but another
proof of how mills in the South
where they are judiciously man
aged pay It is but a matter ol
time when all the cotton raised in
the Soutb will be consumed by the
Southern mills It has reached a
point Now this is no guess-
work it is an inevitable certainty
Just here the Jimplicute wishes
to impress on the investing pub
lie and especially thoBe who are
considering the question of cotton
in the South that in the selecting
the looation everything else being
equal location on navigable
streams should be given preference
This insures a cheap rate of freight
and therefore insures the succesB
of every V mill thus located The
