Band And Choirs
► Present Concert
A gaily decorated audi-
torium was the setting for
a festive Christmas con-
cert held Thursday, Decem-
ber 20.
Both the high school
band and the junior high
choirsJ performed in the
c one ert. Mas ic r an g ing
from older cla&.a'fcs to
newer more popular numbers
was heard. The concert was
climaxed with the band and
choirs performing "Jingle
Bells" together.
Mr, Lonnie Dooley is in
charge of the band, while
Mbs* Patsy Morris directs
the choirs.
Literary UIL Students Receive
High Ratings At Practice Meet
*ACHS was well repre-
sented at the Burkburnett
Invitational Literary meet
held on Friday and Satur-
day, December lh and lp.
Entered in the senior di-
vision of the contest were
Leah Luig, competing in
prose, Craig Loftin, com-
peting in poetry, Bill
Jentsch, who won fourth
place in prose, Mark Adams
and Bill Crowley, who took
second place in debate,
Paul Wylie and Cecelia
Owen, competing in persua-
sive speaking, and Scott
Groves,competing in infor-
mat ive s .eaking.
Entering in tying were
Len Eve,first place, Diane
Abshier, third place, Dor-
othy Schlabs, and Debbie

in Frisco, Texas. She
