During the oil boom of

field around Amarillo, even
working for himself for a
while, as he went to classes
at Frank Phillips College.
After he graduated with a
bachelor's degree in 1991,
Roach officially became an
educator.
"A job came open in Ver-
non, and my wife had rela-
tives there so we moved,"
he said.
Later, they relocated to
Randlett, Okla., and then
came back to Texas to reside
at Lake Kemp.
"A position came open in
Seymour that I took," he
added. "A year later one
came open for Nancy and
we've been there the past 20
years."
In 1998, Roach earned his
master's degree from Mid-
