Whole peppers are better for sea-
soning soups and sauces than ground
pepper
Jelly cake should have the edges
pared off carefully to make it roll
easier
For removing from the hands stains
made by paring fruits and vegetables
use oxalic acid
Old loose kid gloves worn while
ironing will keep the hands in good
condition and free from callouses
Faded plush may be brightened by
brushing it very lightly with a jclean
sponge dipped in chloroform
To make butter scotch mix four
cupfuls of brown sugar two cupfuls
of butter and three tablespoonfuls of
water and boil until crisp in water
If you have a black gown that
needs freshening cleanse it thorough-
ly with clear black coffee diluted
with water and containing a little
ammonia
After the weekly washing rub a lit-
tle vinegar and spirits of camphor
over the hands This will keep the
hands in good condition summer and
winter
To brighten the eyes take occasion
ally just before going to bed the
juice of half a lemon in a small
tumbler of water without adding any
sugar to it
When cut flowers become wilted
after a while they may sometimes be
freshened by cutting off the ends
with a sharp knife and dipping the
stems in hot water for a moment
Silk may be restored by sponging
While still quite damp it should be
rolled on a bioomstick and left until
quite dry It is a good rule with near-
ly all silks never to iron it
Always see that the shoes are prop-
erly cared for when taken off at
night Straighten and smooth out the
wrinkles drawn from the instep pull
up from the heel and place on a boot

M E Rail of this place
I was a great sufferer for 2 years and
was very weak but I learned about Car
dui and decided to try it Now I am in
perfect health
My daughter when changing into
womanhood got in very bad health I
gave her Cardui and now she enjoys
good health
Cardui is worth its weight in gold I
recommend it for young and old
Being composed exclusively of harm-
less vegetable ingredients with a mild
and gentle medicinal action Cardui is
the best medicine for weak sick girls
and women
It has no harsh powerful nearpois
onous action like some of the strong
minerals and drugs but helps nature to
perform a cure in a natural easy way

Curtiss Comedy Company Yields to
Rquests Made and Will Stay
Here All Next Week
The management says
It will interest many to know that
the Curtiss Comedy company which
has been playing at the Airdome all
of the present week is going to re
main in Palestine all of next week
Mr Curtiss has had several requests
made to remain another week and
has finally accepted the invitation
This all goes to show that if a good
company comes to Palestine puts up
real plays properly staged and well
acted our people will respond for
no other city in the United States is
so loyal in its allegiance to recognized
stage favorites as is Palestine The
Curtiss company has more than made
good during the week just closing and
there is not the least fraction of a
doubt but that they will duplicate
their success again next week
Finishing their first week here to-
night a beautiful rural play of the
Away Down East type will be
given The story is called Down on
the Farm and is from the prolific
pen of the eminent authoress Lottie
Blair Parker The play has been seen
by many and there are very few
theatregoers who do not know of its
sterling worth both as an entertaining
play and a story of remarkable di-
dactical value
Commencing Monday night a reper-
toire of all new plays will be present-
ed and between each act next week
highclass vaudeville features will be
introduced the vaudeville acts sched-
uled for the Lyric Theatre having
been engaged to play at the Airdome
as an additional feature for the Cur
tiss company
The band and orchestra is also be-
coming quite a favorite here and it
is stated that many new selections
will be rendered next week by them
that have not been heard here before
