BONHAM DAILY FAVORITE
Warning
We are informed that at some cafes, res-
taurants and gardens beer and strong
drinks have been sold under the guise of
the popular soft drink, Bevo.
These reports have been confirmed suf-
ficiently to compel us to take action.
The beverage Bevo enjoys the pro-
tection of both fedora! and state
authority. In preparing it for sale and
in marketing it, we adopt every possible
precaution to protect the public against
imposition and to prevent evasion of the
law. Bevo is sold in bottles only, we
bottle all of it ourselves, and we have
adopted a kind of bottle, crown and seals
designed to prevent imitation.
We shall omit no measure within our
power to defend the authority under
which Bevo is manufactured and sold,
to protect the public from imposition,
and to safeguard the good name of this
Association.
We therefore give fair warning that we
shall refuse to sell our products to those
who are found guilty of the above
offense.

The Red Cross, all over the land, is
making the fight of its life to get
funds with which to be prepared to
stanch the wounds of the boys in the
trenches, to relieve them of their suf-
ferings, and, in many thousands of in-
stances, actually save their lives—
lives of American boys, perhaps boys
from Bonham. Could you hold back a
dollar from this cause while in your
mind’s eye you see Bonham boys lan-
guishing on the field of carnage, there
to suffer and to die, simply because
not a hand is stretched across the
seas to aid them? Are you willing
for American mothers who have borne
sons, sons over whom they have
watched and prayed, to read in the
papers that their boys lay on a battle-
field in a foreign land dying, simply
because there was none to go and give
them first aid? If you and many
more like you do this, hold back your
money, the blood of these boys will,
in a measure, be on your heads. No
use to argue now as to the why or
the how of the war. The fiat has gone
forth that America has unsheathed
the sword, never again to be sheathed,
until the banner of Democracy floats
over the waves of the Rhine, in the
face of the Kaiser, and Austria shall
have acknowledged a king no more,
while the sunspeakable Turk is made
to feel the righteous wrath of the
Anglo-Saxon, who never lost a just
war, and never will.
Perhaps the Red Cross of Bonham
has missed you in this great crusade
for funds in which it is engaged. It
is impossible to get everybody, even
in a town the size of Bonham. If this
holy cause appeals to you; if you wish
to give of your means to enable the
Red Cross to do its work on the bat-
tle fields beyond«the seas, deposit your
money in either one of the Bonham
banks to the credit of this Red Cross
fund.
Do your duty while yet you may,
for the time will come when neither
money nor good wishes could aid a
cause which needs assistance, and by
so doing you may be the means of
helping to save the life of some Amer-
ican boy. Could you do more?

HEARD ABOUT IT
Washington, June 20.—The War
Department’s request for bids for
35,000 army motor trucks brought
responses from eighty-seven concerns
throughout the country and when the
offers were opened today it was found
that the total number for which bid-
ders are ready to contract is many
times the Government’s requirements.
The estimate of 35,000 trucks is based
on the maximum transport needs of
an army of 2,000,000 men. Many
types and sizes were offered!, the
prices ranging from $1,031 for one-
ton trucks to $4,600 for five-ton ve-
hicles.
It is estimated that there are not
more than 40,000 motor trucks on the
entire western battle front in Europe,
which proved ample for the needs of
the British, French and Belgian fight-
ing forces.

Owing to the kind of weather we

or more the selling of our large
stocks of men’s and young men’s

As a result our stocks of these
goods have grown, owing to sev-

that if we do not start them a
moving at once we will soon find
ourselves over crowded and

this should occur, we have re-

Good news spreads rapidly and
druggists here are kept busy dispens-

a Cincinnati man, which is said to
loosen any corn so it lifts out with the
fingers. A quarter of an ounce costs
very little at any pharmacy, but is
said to be sufficient to rid one’s feot
of every hard or soft corn or callous.
You apply just a few drops on the
tender, aching corn and instantly the
soreness is relieved, and soon the corn
is so shriveled that it lifts out with-
out pain. It is a sticky substnee
which dries when applied and never
inflames or even irritates the adjoin-

This discovery will prevent thous-

we omitted in some way the name of
Max Ilermer. It is a matter of im-

to some that he was not among those
willing to help along the good work of

signed the list.

GOOD RAIN YESTERDAY.
Yesterday afternoon a heavy rain
visited this part of the county, the
rain coming down in torrents for
about an hour. The rain at Ravenna
was a heavy as it was here, and at
Edhube and for a few miles south of
that place it was a little flood. The
fall of water was sufficient to put all
the branches out of banks, and parties
coming in from Leonard last night
found Bois d’Arc out of banks and
covering the bottoms. The rain did
not extend far south, but it went east
as far as Paris.

UGH! CALOMEL MAKES YOU SICK.

Letters unclaimed, advertised at
Bonham, Texas, for week ending

Alexander, Master Aubrey
Adams, Mrs. B. F.
“Dodson’s Liver Tone” Will Clean Your
Sluggish Liver Better Than Calomel
and Can Not Salivate.
Calomel makes ycm sick; you lose a
day’s work. Calomel is quicksilver and
it salivates; calomel injures your liver.
If you are bilious; feel lazy, sluggish
and all knocked out, if your bowels are
constipated and your head aches or
stomach is sour, just take a spoonful of
harmless Dodson’s Liver Tone instead
of using sickening, salivating calomel.
Dodson’s Liver Tone is real liver medi-
cine. You’ll know it next morning be-
cause you wijl wake up feeling fine,
your liver will be working, your head-
ache and dizziness gone, your stomach
will be sweet and bowels regular. You
will feel like working. YTxu’ll be cheer-
fal; full of enorjrv. vigor and ambition.
Your druggist or dealer sells you a
50 cent bottle of Dodson’s Liver Tone
under my personal guarantee that it
will clean your sluggish liver better than
nasty calomel; it won't make you sick
and you can eat anything you want
without being salivated. Your druggist
guarantees that each spoonful will start
your liver, clean your bowels and
straighten you up by morning or you
get your money back. Children gladly
take Dodson’s Liver Tone because it is
pleasant tasting and doesn’t gripe or
cramp or make them sick.
I am selling millions of bottles of
Dodson’s Liver Tone to people who have
found that this pleasant, vegetable, liver
medicine takes the place of dangerous
calomel. Buy one bottle on my sound,
reliable guarantee. Ask your druggist
