Deportment Lists
226 Co. Arrests
A total of 226 arrests were re-
ported by the Grayson County
Sheriff’s Department for Feb-
ruary.
Property stolen during the
month totaled $7,246.75 with al-
most double that amount, $14,-
514.20 recovered by the depart-
ment.
Burglars struck 22 times, with
13 cleared; 23 thefts were re-
ported with 15 cleared. Thirty-
one miscellaneous cases result-
ed in 22 cases being cleared.
Arrests for the month were:
abusive language, 1; after in-,
dictment, 3; aggravated assault,
7; assault with a deadly weap-
on, 1; burglary, 6; car theft, 2;
destruction of private property,
1; disturbing the peace, 5; driv-
ing while intoxicated, 31; drunk,
28; dyer act, 1; false statement,
1; fugitive from justice, 1; forg-
ery, 2; gaming, 19; identifica-
tion, 2; juveniles, 1; lunacy, 17;
non-support, 3; other depart-
ments, 2; parole violator, 1;
prisoner in transient, 9; remov-
al of mortgaged property, 1;
robbery by assault, 2; swindling
with check, under $50, 8; theft
under $50, 1; over $50, 12;
threat to kill, 1; traffic offenses
7; vagrancy, 1; violation of li-
quor law, 2. M.A.P.B., 18.

Herbert Ruffin Dies
In Delhi, California
Word was received here this
i week of the death of Herbert
Ruffin, 63, of Delhi, California.
He was the son of Mr. and
i Mrs. W. H. Ruffin, 213 N. Bean
Street, Howe.
Funeral arrangements were
incomplete Wednesday morning.
Mr. Ruffin was bom July 17,
1904 at Collinsville. He died
Monday morning.
Survivors include the widow;
one son; three brothers, includ-
ing Chester Ruffin of Howe;
Mrs. Albert Hall, Howe, a sis-
ter, and three other sisters; 10
grandchildren and 1 great grand
child.
