CERL workshop
A workshop for all CERL. parenting facilitators will be
held on Monday, Nov. 26 from 1 -4 p.m. at the Diocesan
Pastoral Center Reading Room. The presentation will be
led by Juanita Buiton, parenting chairman from Family
Outreach, Corpus Chrisli, Inc. The primary objective of
this workshop is to prepare facilitators to conduct parent-
ing education activities for school, churches and other
appropriate local groups. Emphasis will be on skills prac-
tice. This workshop is open to all interested persons in
addition to CERL parenting facilitators. There is no fee,
however, pre-registration is required by Nov, 20. Atten-
dance is limited to 35 persons. For reservations, contact

Thanksgiving Day picnic
Our Lady of Consolation Church is having their 76th
Thanksgiving Day picnic on Thursday, Nov, 22 at Vattman,
south of Kingsville on Farm Road 628, from 11 a,m.-2
p.m. The all-you-can-cat tickets are S7 for adults and S4
for children. There will be trap shooting, a country store,
bingo and much more. A country-western dance will be
held from 8-12 p.m. with music by Tumblewccd. Refresh-
ments will be served.
Parish Mission
Father Frank Fidgcon, CSSR, will preach at all Masses
at Most Precious Blood Church, Corpus Christi, com-
mencing Saturday, Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. and all Masses on
Sunday, Dec. 2. The Parish Mission will begin Monday,
Dec. 3 at 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Masses and Mission Proper
begin each night at 7:30 p.m. through Thursday, Dec. 6.
Healing Mass
A Healing Mass will be celebrated by Father Jesus
Garciaand Father Bernard Mlapahon Nov. 26 at7:30p.m.
at Christ the King Church, 3422 Rojo, Corpus Christi. All
arc invited.
Guadalupe celebration
This year the Guadalupe celebration will be held at
Corpus Christi Cathedral on Dec. 12. The procession,
from Sacred Heart Church to the Cathedral will begin at
7:30 p.m. and the Mass at 8 p.m. The Mass will be telecast
nationally and internationally. We would like for all
organizations of all parishes to be represented in the pro-
cession and at ihc mass. Please bring banners with your
organizations' names. A short reception will follow.
Senior citizen dollar movies
The Humana Seniors Association will introduce one-
dollar movie-going on Tuesday, Nov, 20, at Dollar Cin-
ema in Sunrise Mall, Corpus Christi. Opening at 9:30 a.m.
on that day, the cinema will show a specially-selected
movie to senior citizens for a one-dollar admission, along
with popcorn and a large drink for another dollar. The
dollar movie is open to all adults age 55 and over. Call

Family Ministry
Father Thomas Boland, noted fam ily life m inistry advo-
cate and author of several books on family ministry, will
address all interested individuals at the November class
meetings of the Family Life Ministry Skills Course. Father
Boland, of Louisville, KY, will speak on "Bringing Fam-
ily Ministry to the Parish," The Corpus Christi presenta-
tion will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s
Parish Hall. The Laredo presentation will be held Sunday,
Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. at Christ the King Parish Hall. All arc

Educational seminar
The Corpus Christi Satellite Chapter of the National
Foundation for Ileitis and Colitis invites you to attend an
educational seminar on “What's New in Inflammatory

Healing Mass
Father Roger Smith, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Alice,
extends an invitation to Corpus Christi and the surround-

Tuesday, Nov. 27 at6:30 p.m. Father Jacinto Holguin will
celebrate Holy Mass.
Program for the blind
The Diocesan Office of Persons with Disabilities an-
nounces that Dorothy Gorman will head anew program
for the blind and visually impaired on Friday, Nov. 16 at

Bazaar
St. Anne’s Altar Society, Fall lirrias, will hold its Annual
Bazaar, Saturday, Nov. 17 from 4-8:30 p.m. at the parish

Hypertension lecture
The Humana Seniors Association will present a lecture
on Wednesday, Nov. 21, on hypertension, considered to
be the silent disease. Risk factors, types of hypertension,
and blood pressure screenings will be available. The
program will be held at 2 p.m. at the Humana Seniors
Association Office, upper level, Sunrise Mall, Corpus

Expectant mother tour
Spohn Hospital's Women's Center, Corpus Christi, is
offering tours of the facility to help expectant parents
make the choice of where to have their babies. Each first
Saturday of thcmonthut2 p.m., registered nurses from the
facility will guide people through the hospital. To sign up

Surplus auction
The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO)
will hold a local auction sale of surplus property at Bldg,
22, Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi , on Nov. 30. Bidder
registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the sale will start
at 8:30 a.m. Items for sale include clothing, tools, box
springs, mattresses, appliances, vehicles, furniture and

Annual arts & crafts fair
Members of the Humana Seniors Association will host
their second annual Arts and Crafts Fair of handmade,
crocheted, quilted, sewn, painted and decorated crafts on

Sunrise Mall, 5858 South Padre Island Drive. The craft

Christmas loans
For the second year in a row, the Diocese or Corpus
Christi Federal Credit Union is offering its 12-12-12
Christmas loans. Loans in the amount of SI,200 for 12

The Corpus Chrisli Cathedral Pontifical Chorale will
appear with the Andy Williams Christmas Show, Nov. 29

Pilgrimage
There will be a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe in
Mexico City, Dec. 17-20. The pilgrimage svill be led by
Father Jesus Garcia. The pilgrimage will include the
procession with the Blessed Mother and the Mass at the

Expedition
The Texas State Aquarium is sponsoring an 11 -day
natural history' expedition to the world's second largest
barrier reef in Belize and to Tikal, one of the most
important archaeological discoveries in Central America.
The expedition, scheduled for Jan. 28 through Feb. 7,
1991, is the first travel program offered by the new
facility. It is open to the public and will be limited to 17
persons. Accomodations are based on double occupancy
with airfare from Houston. Expedition fee is 52,190 per
person. A deposit of S300 is required with final payment

Mended Hearts, a support group for heart patients and fl

Workshop
The Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors Workshop for
the Corpus Chrisli area has been moved to Nov. 28, at 7
p.m. at St. Thomas More, instead of Nov. 21. All Lectors
and Eucharistic Ministers are welcome to attend.
Aquarium cook-out
Texas State Aquarium will sponsor an Aquarium Cook-
Out and Camp-In, Nov. 17 and 18. The program, which
includes a Saturday evening cook-out by the bay, a sleep-
over in the Aquarium exhibit galleries and a continental
breakfast Sunday morning, is one of several new programs
offered by the Aquarium this fall. Other fall programs :
include Behind-the-Sccnes Tours, Nov. 17 and 18. a
lecture and night hike to discover the Living Lights of the
Seas the evening of Nov. 29. Pre-registration is required. ;

Marriage retreat
There will be a retreat for married couples Dec. 1 from

Diabetic support group
On Tuesday, Nov. 27, Humana Hospital-Corpus Chrisli
will host an organizational meeting to initiate a diabetic
support group which will meet at the hospital on a regular
basis. The organizational meeting is open to diabetics,
their families and other interested adults at no charge and
will meet at 7 p.m. in Classroom I on the third floor of the
hospit?Those interested in attending this newly-formed ;
support group are asked to call 857-1492.
