Awards House
Moving Contract
Bids for the plumbing work
entailed in the moving of a
house owned by Kermit Inde-
pendent School District, along
with bids on the moving job it-
self, were opened during a
meeting of the District’s Board
of Trustees last Tuesday.
Bo’s Plumbing was awarded
a contract for the plumbing
work on the house to be moved
from 316 South Mulberry Street
to a site adjacent to the Dunbar
School.
V. W. Johnson won the mov-
ing contract. Bo’s Plumbing
contract amounts to $275 while
the moving bid was for $250.
In other business conducted
during the regular monthly
meeting of the Board, a request
for the use of a school room by
the Sandhills Shufflers Club, a
square dance group, was turned
dov/n by unanimous action.
Richard Hoyer of Monahans!
was also approved to the annual
audit of the School District
books. He has performed the
audit for the last few years.
RETURNED AS PASTOR
Rev. Carl Lawson was return-
ed as pastor of the First Metho-
dist Church of Kermit last week
during the annual conference
of the New Mexico Methodist
Church.
The pastor was assigned to
the church for the fifth consecu-
tive year during the meeting.'
Also attending the sessions from
Kermit were Dr. Paul Hollin-
shead and J. M. Lipham.

Accidents Show
Marked Decline
In County Area
There were only two accidents,
on rural highways in Winkler County.
County during April, according
to the report of the local Texas
Highway Patrol District com-
mander.
According to Captain Ray
Butler, the two accidents re'
suited in two injuries and prop-
erty damage totaling $1,880.
Throughout the 24-county area
served by this patrol area, ac-
cidents, injuries and property
damage showed a decrease, the
report revealed.
The motorists of the Mid-
land Highway Patrol District
are to be congratulated for a
good job of driving last month,
Captain Butler said. “Rural
traffic deaths stand at 25 for
the first four months of 1961,
ten less than the similar period
last year.”

San Angelo is testing No. 1
Ohio-State, Southwest Lea Coun-
ty wildcat, in the Delaware
sand.
The project is 30 miles west
of Jal and 1% miles northwest
of the El Mar (Delaware) sand
pool. It spots 660 feet from
south and east lines of section
16-26s-32e.
After coring from 4,485 to
4,585 feet, with no descriptions
reported on the recovery, cas-
ing of unreported size was set
at 4,584 feet.
That pipe was perforated at
4,484-87; 4,492-98; and 4,501-04
feet. Those intervals now are
being swabbed to clean out and
test. No other information is
available.
A wildcat has been staked in
Lea County.
John H. Trigg of Roswell,
N. M., will drill a 5,000-foot
Delaware wildcat, No. 1-18 Fed-
eral-Jennings, 30 miles' west of
Jal in Lea County.
Wellsite is 660 feet from south
and east lines of section 18-22s-
32e.

Midland has completed No, 2
Federal James, a west offset
to a one-well undesignated Del-
aware pool in southwest Lea

John H. Trigg of Roswell will
drill No. 1-20 Federal-PT to
5,200 feet, seven miles north-
west of Maljamar.
It spots two miles west of the
Eumont field and 2,310 feet
from south and 1,650 feet from
west lines of section 20-19s-36e.
El Paso Natural Gas Com-
pany has scheduled a 14,000-foot
wildcat, No. 1 Mescalero Ridge
Unit-Federal, 18 miles south-
west of Maljamar.
The prospector is 214 miles
southeast of El Paso’s No. 1
Mescalero, indicated Morrow
discovery, and 660 feet from
north and west lines of section
21- 19s-34e.
Three additional wildcats are
being drilled in Lea County.
Sinclair Oil & Gas Company
will drill a 13,000-foot Devonian
wildcat 15 miles south of Bron-
co and 4% miles southeast of
the Denton field. It is the No. 1
C. S. Stone.
Location is 1,980 feet from
north and east lines of section
22- 15s-38e.
Aztec Oil & Gas Company of
Dallas scheduled No. 1-EV State
as a 4,600-foot venture eight
miles northwest of Hobbs and
two miles east of a recently
opened Abo field.
Wellsite is 650 feet from east
lines of section 31-17s-36e.
William A. and Edward B.
Hudson of Fort Worth plan a
wildcat 17 miles west of Pearl,
the No. 1 Signal-Ross-Federal.
Contracted to 3,500 feet, the
project is 1% miles south of the
East Tonto (Yates and Seven
Rivers) pool and 660 feet from
north and 1,980 feet from east
lines of section 30-19s-33e.
Kirklin Drilling Company of
Odessa has filed application to
drill a 5,200-foot Delaware wild-
cat, No. 1 R. B. Farris & Kirk-
lin State, 25 miles southwest of
Jal in Lea County.
Site is seven miles northeast
of an undesignated Delaware
pool and 660 feet from north
and east lines of section 33-22s-
33e.
