Throws Hat In Ring
Wm. E. Nicholas, Aransas Pass
attorney, this week authorized
The Progress to announce his
candidacy for the office of coun-
ty attorney of San Patricio coun-
ty. ' His statement follows:
“In announcing as a candidate
for the office of county attorney
of San Patricio county, subject to
the: Democratic primary, I wish
to state that I have been a resi-
dent of this county for the past
eight years. My entire future is
identified with this county and I
am therefore particularly inter-
ested in the establishment and
continuance of good local govern-
ment. By good local government,
in so far as the county attorney’s
office is concerned, I mean the
fair and equal enforcement of our
laws to all persons. This should
be a matter of vital interest to all
residents of this county.
“I am a native of Texas and am
31 years of age. I graduated from
the University of Texas Lav/
School in 1938 and began the
practice of law in Aransas Pass.
In 1940 I married a Sinton girl
and we have one child. I enter-
ed the army late in 1942. I have
recently been discharged after 3
years of service in the Counter
Intelligence Corps, and am now
re-establishing my law practice.
“I believe that I am fully qual-
ified to fulfill the duties of the
office of County Attorney and
will sincerly appreciate your sup-
port.
“WILLIAM E. NICHOLAS.’’
